About this Series:
At the end of the 24th century, and 14 years after his retirement from Starfleet, Jean-Luc Picard is living a quiet life on his vineyard, when he is sought out by a mysterious young woman in need of his help. This chance encounter sends him on a bold and exciting new journey to track down a series of mysteries about his past. Culminating in the most the most daring mission of his life, Picard is forced to recruit allies spanning generations old and new with the fate of the Federation at stake.
Sorry to be Debbie Downer, but IMHO this whole series was an awful potpourri of random callbacks from TNG composted into a nonsensical mess in hopes of tickling fan nostalgia. Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds do this properly, while also finding their own identities; Picard's meandering idiocy will simply tarnish any fond memories of Trek you might have.
If it's in any way cheaper to just purchase the 3rd season by itself that's the way I'd personally go. That said if you get all 3 don't give up after season 1 or 2 because season 3 is some of the best star trek ever made
I actually don't get the hate. I've enjoyed all of Picard and can't stand Strange New Worlds. I actually enjoyed Picard better than Discovery but maybe that's not a surprise to anyone. I love the actors coming back to their roles and having some fun with it again. Everyone loves to crap on everything new but I enjoy that they're doing something rather than living in fear of stepping on someone's precious nostalgia. There are some low points, but it's good fun.

Unwatchable. Patrick Stewart is simply too old for this. A great actor, but here he acts feeble, is hard to understand and quite frankly, it's embarrassing to watch him. Convoluted storylines and shoehorning everyone in that appeared in TNG feels like pandering to fans and ratings. Always a fan of ST but this fails miserably for me. Just my take.

The low points were seasons 1 and 2. But, as they say, that's why there's chocolate and vanilla.

Season 3 is absolutely NOT some of the best Star Trek ever made. It's ok Trek, it's good fan service.
That said, seasons 1 and 2 are dog shit, easily the WORST Star Trek ever made.
Season 3 made up for seasons 1 and 2 x100. As a longtime fan, it's the perfect ending to the TNG story (especially after Nemesis ruined everything).
Of course the grand reveal near the end of the penultimate episode was more than anyone could've hoped, but the little moments like figuring out the "Pop Goes the Weasel" connection, complete with the brief flashback, just hit me so hard as a fan since the beginning.
Let's be fair, have you gone back and watched S1 of TNG? It's terrible! After around 7 episodes I skipped over to S2. S1 is just stilted and forced and the cast haven't found the groove they have in the subsequent seasons.
I didn't mind Picard S1 and S2; they weren't the best but nowhere near as painful as watching flames shoot out from the walls of the bridge on Strange New Worlds for the 1000th time (and no real reason.)
S1 of TNG is bad in a good way. Picard is a woke disaster, doing to that character what they did to Luke in last jedi. Destroy the past and replace it with garbage for "modern audiences". Either way it's still not worth $25 for the set.
Actually, I enjoyed season 2 the most. It had a much less contrived story than season 3 which was more of reunion, feel good seeing old characters, type show pretending to have some kind of storyline just to make it into a series. Season 2's rough spots were that it was rush filmed during the peak of covid so the scenes were dictated to what they were allowed to do. In all three though, it is painful to watch Patrick Stewart degenerate so much from his former self.

I truly am interested in hearing the opinions of people who back season 2. For me personally it's one of the single worst seasons of all of Trek. Covid or not it was incredibly disjointed and untethered in established cannon. It left me with a similar feeling as Nemesis in that way, like it was being produced by someone who didn't know the history. But even as an independent story it was all over the place, with loose ends left unaddressed. Guinan and genie bottles (what?), Q teased as main character but barely in it (and dying?…huh), trying to figure out what to do with Isa Briones. I could go on and on. Shame bc the cast was quite good that season.

I bet you hate Star Trek Discovery too.
You definitely didn't watch season 3. And you definitely hate Discovery.
Season 2 was a 1
Season 3 is a 9
Everyone liked season 3, so, of course, they decided not to make star trek: legacy they were talking about
