I purchased a 2023 version of this laptop with the 1115G4 cpu and a smaller 256GB SSD back when it was $200 and it works fine for just plain everyday use, the web, and Youtube watching. The screen is pretty basic and not super bright but at least it's 1080p. Wound up investing in a single stick of a 16GB SO-DIMM, and a cheap 1TB SSD and haven't looked back. With some doctoring and a pre-install version of the SSD drivers, it handles a duall boot Windows 10 Pro OS and Windows 11 Pro OS split on the SSD. I use it for couch surfing and on the kitchen table or when I don't want to risk my nicer $500 iPad Air to accidental damage or potential theft. I didn't need a laptop in this price category to be super fast, extra light, have an ultra long life battery or have a 5 year warranty -- just gimme a couple of years of decent service and not have to bemoan if it got dropped or stolen.
The model numbers appear to match, but it seems odd that the Bestbuy listing has a zillion reviews and is so long in the tooth, while the Microcenter listing appears to be new with not a single customer rating or review.
Seems I can never buy anything from this microcenter due to the lack of a shipping option!
What is wrong with MicroCenter and Shipping? Are they allergic to packing/FEDEX or UPSP?! or something...

Their business model is similar to Costco Chicken. They offer great deals to get you in the store knowing you will buy other stuff. They often take a loss on CPU Mother board combos. They would not be able to do that with online sales. You would buy the chicken and get the rest of your groceries elsewhere cheaper.
It's free? The micro center guy told me you had to pay to upgrade... Maybe he was trying to upsale me
I just purchased 1 + 8 Gig RAM chip from MicroCenter in NJ yesterday. First time there...so many salesmen available...but the guy told me it's free but then made his sales pitch for AntiVirus purchase (which I did not buy).

It's free in regards to no money cost, but it does require a MS account to download the needed app from the MS Store. Sort of a pain in the butt if you don;t have or want a MS account.

These Microcenter deals should be YMMV because only a very small portion of the population lives near one and you're right, no deals are ever for shipping! Always IN STORE only. Except for this one (I was curious) I pretty much just ignore Microcenter deals now.

So you already know there isn't one near you and that they don't ship, and you still felt the need to complain? The vast majority of brick and mortar deals on here are YMMV.
On an actual relative note, I was looking for a nice budget laptop and picked this up today. Happy with it so far.

Actually, I was agreeing with someone else who said the same thing FIRST. Did you happen to skip that post? If there's something in the Slickdeals rules that disallows me from agreeing with someone (or sharing my opinion), please point it out.
Dell is a better brand, a newer processor, and it is less expensive.
Lenovo has a higher processor and can be upgraded to fully use Xe.
I would go with the better brand that is less expensive. They are close, and to be honest, tomorrow if there is no rain I will walk to Microcenter for the Lenovo because I have gift cards I can use there.
NEXT DAY EDIT: 6th day of rain. Good news is only 10% of stock was sold during the sale week for this computer, so I will wait until next time or a better deal on a different laptop.
