Walmarts tend to be busier in many areas than Target, which is what some people are really referring to, because Walmart has better pricing and larger merchandise selection that attracts more people. Hence, my original comment.
You can choose how much you spend from gc. You would just figure out how much to apply before free shipping disappears

Got a $500 physical from target.com that was got siphoned from CA and I'm in MN, this was 5yrs ago now.
It even had cartwheel savings on the purchases! Makes you expect it was resold
Either inside warehouse job or it just comes from a B&M store
Even with police report target was a complete bafoon and wouldn't cooperate in the investigation
Somehow eventually with enough chasing target eventually got the money back, but what a shame
The cards were drained to $0 several months after we initially purchased them despite the fact that they were still "SEALED" in their packaging (and physically in our household) when they were fraudulently used online by the thieves.
By the time I was given them to use and when I opened the packaging, the balance was already drained to $0.
Eventually got our cash back, but it was SO STRESSFUL for several months and such an energy and time-drainer and waster. I think I even cried once from the stress and frustration
I really hope these eGift Cards are more safe and secure than physical ones.
ALSO, shame on the scammer/fraudster people who steal our hard-earned money from these gift cards

Thank you for the reminder! As I mentioned in my comment, I really hope eGift Cards are more secure than the physical ones that are mailed to us.
Does Target charge the credit card right after placing the order or when it ships the order? I placed my order yesterday and I need the charge to be today or earlier to qualify for a promotion. So far my order status is still "Prepared to ship".
