Because you're unaware of the difference between a gaming laptop and a workstation/business laptop.
It's funny because this has two USB4 ports which is what people yearn for and homeboy is complaining about old ports with less functionality.
16" with discrete GPU, decent sized battery, good low power display, 8-core efficient CPU and 4lbs, not bad!!

Again, you think your scenario is everyones! Not everyone wants to deal with dock. Not everyone has a brand new monitor with USB-C port or dock built-in. I would venture a guess that a large majority of people don't. So while YOU may have set yourself up with the latest and greatest and find no need for USB-A or HDMI ports, that doesn't mean the other 95% of people don't need them.

Personally, I don't like having to use a dongle or adapter just to plug something in that doesn't match an available port. It's infinitely more convenient to have a USB-A and USB-C and RJ45 port on my laptop.

Check out the definition of "obsolete". USB-A and HDMI are not obsolete. Floppy discs and SCSI drive interfaces are obsolete.
I agree, but everybody must understand that if you buy a last generation laptop, then you should not expect that this must be compatible with all old tech or, at least, this should not be the rule. There are some "complete" PC lines as Lenovo Thinkpad T series and those who needs all that compatibility, should have to find that specific lines.

Just to be clear, I never complained about the ports. That was someone else who was then attacked by the Port Squad for desiring a better variety of ports to meet THEIR needs. I was simply defending that person against people who make it sound like no one uses or sells devices with USB-A and HDMI. I purchased my Lenovo P16s specifically because it does have a wide variety of ports (including RJ45) and also because it's packed with great specs and 64GB of RAM and OLED for $1100! Smilie

That being said, despite the deal being expired (it will likely be back) the Z16 is a quality laptop with good battery life and features (if you can find the model with OLED, even nicer!)

While this deal is expired, the deal guru's at Lenovo has this -- same model with lesser CPU, smaller SSD (who sells 256GB SSD laptops these days?) for only $1000 MORE than this deal was!
