Don't get Brondell. Mine stopped working after 2 years. My cousin have a toto brand said it's been going strong 3 years now
I personally grab the controller before sitting in the toilet and put it back after use.
I use it for feminine wash or anus wash depending on what comes out lol
Also use heated seat and air dry depending if I sit long due constipation and/or diarrhea cramps from eating too much ice cream (lactose intolerant)
The bidet I own only has a basic wash physical button on the seat itself
if one does have a full control panel built in , id rather go for controller as it's not really line of sight when sitting

In terms of longevity I own a previous model from this brand at Costco, only lasted 2 years. My cousin own a toto still going strong after 3 years
