I've owned this and the cold/no power CL99 version for a while. Pros on this is it's definitely an upgrade from the CL99 but may be overkill for some. If anyone is new to this space, I strongly recommend trying the CL99 for <$100 first. If you are not new, this is an incredible value and upgrade but just be aware this will need TLC in a year or 2 (Brondell and Costco are both amazing with warranty. I've had little things bust and they both have replaced my seat and parts for free).
People who don't like walking around all day with a stanky itchy bung hole and skid marks in their underwear. Apparently you are ok with that.Big Grin
Sounds like someone has a dirty butt. Do you also clean your dishes with paper towels?

Anyone have a view on this bidet vs the Toto Washlet? Bought that when it was on sale last month for $320 and haven't installed yet. Is this better?
I own a toto C5 and K300 and like them both. It's hard to go wrong with that brand for reliability and features

I personally grab the controller before sitting in the toilet and put it back after use.

I use it for feminine wash or anus wash depending on what comes out lol

Also use heated seat and air dry depending if I sit long due constipation and/or diarrhea cramps from eating too much ice cream (lactose intolerant)

The bidet I own only has a basic wash physical button on the seat itself

if one does have a full control panel built in , id rather go for controller as it's not really line of sight when sitting
interesting! yeah i guess im pretty basic when i use mine. Ive just run into the battery dies as i push a button - and yeah its annoying when it happens like 3 times a year lol!

Are you guys all installing a GFCI outlet just for this? How hard is that for an electrician to pull wires?

I have a kohler since right before covid (man what perfect timing that was). The heated seat is amazing but a few years later my seat has turned to a dark yellow color prolly due to it staying always heated? Anyway - I never understood remote controls for bidets. I have one, it stays on the wall...but what the heck is the use. I'm never gonna be feet away and need to turn on the bidet. If anyone can enlighten me on this - i would be interested to know! lol
I bought the toto bidet with remote instead of the model with the controls on the side, at about an ~$100 premium, after reading reviews and thinking about it a bit. The remote stays attached to the wall 99% of the time and it's much more convenient using when I can look directly at it and see the functions and easily press then versus awkwardly turning my body to the side to operate controls on the seat. The other 1% of the time I'm using the setting controls on the back of the remote by removing it, again rather than the less pleasant act of squatting down by the bowl. I don't know if it's worth $100 extra but I definitely prefer it.

I own 4 bidets - all Costco models (sort of anyway.)

• USPA 6800 - my first bidet. Purchased in 2016 open box from Woot! I thought it was toast until I recently discovered how easy it is to remove the nozzle tip and clean out the hard water buildup. The remote goes through AAA batteries fairly quickly (3-4 months?) but otherwise zero complaints. Technically I own a 2nd truly Costco model of USPA (6800u?) which seems to be the same as the 6800 other than the remote but it started leaking about 6 months ago and I replaced it with a Toto. So that one lasted maybe about 5 years?

• Moen "5 series." It's ok - although I've used this one the least as it's in my kids bathroom. It works, but it also felt the flimsiest when I installed it.

Novita BH93 [costco.com] honestly my favorite and it's not even close. I thought the open/close of the lid and/or seat is gimmicky and would just be another thing to break. But if Costco ever restocks these things I'd be tempted to buy another. Everything about it is better than my others. The dryer - when cranked up - feels like it could melt your butt…

• Toto T1SW3014. Honestly this is my least favorite. I thought I wouldn't like the side panel vs a remote, but it turns out it's not bad. Maybe I even like it… The toilet's location without any convenient nearby wall space made this seem to be a smart choice. I really like the bowl pre-mist. The dryer is OK. The lid feels flimsy but no worse than the others. There is no "auto" button where you just push and wait for everything to finish, but I can live with that. Also, even the elongated "seat hole" just feels slightly smaller than it should. I'd read about this and looked at the posted dimensions and figured it'd be no big deal. I can live with it, but it is noticeable and mildly annoying. My real issue though is the hot water tank size. The USPA's also have/had a tank, but they seem to be able to at least put out mildly warm water once the tank empties. The Toto has me crank the heat up to its max - an almost uncomfortable first blast - and then it slowly gets cooler. Then, when it seems like - based on my experiences the other 3 and their "auto" settings - the wash cycle should be about 75% complete, it's like a switch has been flipped and suddenly it's shooting out icicles. Literally if I could get another 10-15 seconds of hot (warm???) water out of the thing, I'd be just fine with it. But it's annoying enough that I'm here posting about it so… take that as you will.

And the thing is: I WANT to really like the Toto. I still use it… but it's like it's really close to being just fine, but it's just, not.

One thing to consider is that model doesn't appear to have a nightlight built in. I don't have a bidet yet but am in the market and noticed this omission:

Yup, within 3 feet of the fixture requires GFCI outlets. Details here: https://housevivid.com/how-close-...-a-toilet/

I'm not an electrician, but relatively handy. None of our bathrooms had outlets behind toilets, but all had them conveniently located in rooms directly behind toilets. I pulled wires through, put in GFCI outlets and plugged our bidets in so the cords are mostly out of sight.

To answer your first question: I had the outlets installed when my house was built.

2nd: the answer to this depends entirely on the wiring in your home. If you have an unfinished basement directly below the toilet, it's a piece of cake. If you already have an appropriate wire (meaning it's not on an already close-to-overloaded circuit) in the wall behind the toilet, also a piece of cake.

But if your breaker box is a long way from the toilet and there's no easy way to route a wire there, you could be looking at a relatively expensive install when you consider all the wire needed AND drywall/paint repair work that it would require (unless you're ok with exposed conduit in your home…)

But this is the kind of thing electricians do all the time, so it might not be awful to get a quote.

I paid $80 each for additional outlets at the time my home was built. For a comparison, my neighbors (in 2020) paid an electrician ≈$90 for an outlet behind their toilet for a bidet in their master bathroom several years after it was built.

Thank you! we built our home 4 years ago but wasn't think of Bidets at that time. Wish I had thought of it. would have been super simple. Unfortunately, my basement is finished so this won't be easy.

Keep in mind they can run wires through an attic as well...

But really, if you have an outlet on the wall (other side) behind the toilet, that's simple too.

Really though, if you don't know what you're doing, ask an electrician for a bid. They'll look around for the easiest option for you.

I might give this a try. I've used standalone under seat bidets for years and honestly have never really felt the need for a fancy electric one (and don't have the outlets), but my current one looks like it might be starting to fail. Seems like the valve may not always close which results in the occasional drip into the toilet...but I should probably replace it before that could turn into an external leak.

Going to a integrated seat + bidet is probably the ticket for overall better looks and easier cleaning.
