BONUS1500 Promo code during account creation to be eligible. I've personally just gone through this today, and the promo was auto-applied, showing in top banner of each page as I went through the signup. They almost caught me to create a new Savings account too with a single click, but skipped that one. On the following screen it showed me my new account and routing numbers, along with the promo details, the code and terms listed yet again.
No published expiry date at this time.

Qualifying deposit will be judged by the balance in your account from days 15-105 of account opening. For example, if you had funded the account with $50 on day 2, but then transferred $99,950 on day 14, you're eligible for $1500 bonus back in your account by day 165 of account opening. Alternatively, if you added $20,001 on day 2 and left it there until withdrawing $2 on day 104, you will receive a $0 bonus.

Surprised that nobody in this thread even understands what's going on. For $20,000, 4.35% APY over 3 months is $217.50, however you're also getting a $300 bonus, so you're getting $517.50 for 3 months. That equates to10.35% APY.

This is the same for the other deposit amounts.
Doesn't look like it if you currently have one.
They clearly address that at the beginning of the footnotes at bottom of main deal page, listing multiple account types open with them "on or after January 1, 2022" as making you ineligible for this offer. I'd encourage all to RTFM for straightforward questions like these.
There are quite a few other High Yield Savings Accounts that don't have such restrictions and have higher rates of return. Here's a list I compiled this morning:

APY
Amex: 4.35
Sofi: 4.6, $300 bonus direct deposit
Synchrony: 4.75
Wealthfront: 5.00 (get .5 bonus for 3 months if you refer a friend)
Citbank: 5.05 (5k minimum deposit)
Texas capital: 5.1
Everbank: 5.15
Ufb direct: 5.25
Western alliance: 5.36

For 100k you would earn $5,360 per year at Western versus $4,350 + 1500 = $5,850 with the Capital One deal. If you have less than 100k to invest the other options are better.

Sure, unless they want their bonus, and if so the money still better be there on day 105, and don't think about closing the account until bonus received by day 165 or sooner.

Is there a minimum age required, or are we allowed to open an account under a minors name if we have already participated in the fall promo?

They're being worse pricks than their terms actually claim. The 2022 cutoff date for new customers is phony. If you've EVER had an account of this type, you're farked.

I asked a rep on the phone yesterday, they said no published date they see anywhere internal or public facing, but the standard "Cap1 has the right to end this offer at any time..."

Yea no. I'm about as likely to do that as use the new IRS free tax filing or other services where they require users to use a private third party company (ID.me) to collect all that invasive info that they already have, that I could happily provide only in the event when they actually require it. I had no such challenges with them when creating my account yesterday. Something about your signup (behind VPN, odd computer/browser setup, etc?) probably triggered a fraud-o-meter and kicked in those extra challenges.

Or you can just go to a branch, speak to a person who can see you in person, flash your ID in front of them if the need to SEE it (look with their eyes, not with their hands) and then walk out a few min later with the new account number.

I signed up and did this promo recently. The APY is pretty good, and I got the bonus without any hassle or anything- just showed up in my account.

For 100k you would earn $5,360 per year at Western versus $4,350 + 1500 = $5,850 with the Capital One deal. If you have less than 100k to invest the other options are better.
You're calculating yield at 1 year, not the minimum 3 months. If you redo the calculation assuming just using the account for 3 months it a great deal.

This reminds me of when I was asked why I shop at discount grocery store when I was driving what I was driving. My response was I'm not shopping at that store because I have this vehicle, I have this vehicle because I shop at this store.

The savings and spending habits of those that reach a good level of wealth don't necessarily evaporate when they hit a certain dollar threshold. There's attaining the level, then there's growing and maintaining the level after that.

TLDR: I am absolutely unsurprised those with $1M+ would be Slickdealers, it is that mindset that gets many there.
That's fair, but counterpoint, anyone who has millions generally isn't going to be manually managing dozens if not hundreds of accounts. They would use intrafi or other means.

I think this deal boils down to 2 camps. Those who want to "set it and forget it", and those that are willing to jump through some hoops for a larger short term return.

Is there any hard credit inquiries needed?
