Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

Too bad insurance on this would be another $200

With you on the EV- disagree with the solar panels. for the same reasons I disagree on a EV . EV are something you use an hour or two a day. A house you use for significantly more. Solar takes up a lot of space; but space on your roof is basically unused. Even if you don't store or grid tie, you can use that electricity to heat/cool/make hot water, so that your house is at your optimal comfort when you get home.
the problem is that solar panels lose efficiency. you buy them, use them for 10-15 years, then you scrap them.

They typically pay for themselves on 5-6 years. I have them, and haven't paid electricity since. I might be an exception but living in so cal where we have the AC on 24/7 practically brings the bill high.

An increasingly small minority-- most NEW generation is renewable.

Plus most FF power comes from natural gas, which is cleaner than gasoline burning in individual cars.

So EVs continue to be cleaner than ICE cars regardless of where the power comes from.

Good thing EV semis are already being used in small numbers to fix that, and in much larger numbers in the next few years.

A hybrid is worst of both worlds--- two entire power trains to drag around and have to maintain and repair only to get less performance than a gas car and less efficiency than an electric car.... it's like a futon, not a very good couch, not a very good bed.

Tesla didn't get any tax credits in 2020 through 2022 and increased their sales, massively, every single year.

Consumer reports data comes from people too old to understand how to cancel a magazine subscription.

EVs don't even have engines, transmissions, or most of the fluids a conventional car does.

Go look at the "problems" reported--- they're mostly "I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO USE THE COMPUTER IN THE CAR" problems-- not actual vehicle reliability issues.

So if you're the type of person who has to call your grandkid to figure out how to change the passcode on your phone, an EV might not be for you--- but otherwise they're terrific.

In fact, the two best selling EVs in the country, the Tesla Model Y (also best selling car of any kind in the world) and Model 3, are both recommended by CR as your own link notes.
Your blanket statements are ridiculous. See this review of a typical EV and you will see it is not user error. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzsMhhoc6aI

Coal is being burned at unheard of levels to crate EVs.

Nice response to these luddites who peddle lies while doing mental backflips trying to manage their fear of change. To those on the fence, don't get roped in by these false narratives. Year over year EV sales continue to grow rapidly.
My friend you are the one roped into false narratives. The market is completely collapsing as as people find out what they are.

Tell us about how cobalt is mined. Tell us about lithium. Slowing consumption is environmentally friendly. Buying more garbage with limited range and will fill landfills quicker like this ev will is bananas.
They are expanding coal burning here in the US to let Panasonic build the batteries. My state has 30% green energy subsidies going to plants that burn wood and trash. Canada is cutting down forest to burn wood for supposed green products. Same in Germany where they are clearcutting ancient forests. Sweden gets 60% of it's supposed green energy from burning wood products.

Panasonic gets subsidized with US taxpayers dollars and the people of Kansas have to pay for more transmission lines and infrastructure to burn coal by way of higher electricity rates.

We are subsidizing coal burning to have foreign nations build EV components and everybody pays that price. China is burning more coal than ever to keep up with he demands of the green energy fans.

Hilarious that they feel they can lecture anybody about the planet. Rich city dwellers get taxpayer subsidies to destroy the planet and consider themselves heroes.

With my 9,600 watt solar array on my barn roof (in Wisconsin), I only have to pay for electricity 4 months per year (I opted for grid-tied). Most months I produce more power than I use, so an EV (during the months I'd drive it) would basically have no 'fuel' costs for me. I installed the system myself and it paid for itself in less than 7 years, so all that energy is indeed free (and more importantly, CLEAN).

IMO Solar + EV is the way to go and my next car will definitely be an EV.
Good for you. Dont move to Cali, coz all that math wouldn't work out here

Manufacturers need to clear EV stock before next year. Gas is gonna be cheaper when Trump gets elected.

I love mine; this is the best deal on market for an EV. I use it as my city driver and wouldn't attempt taking it on vacation because the charging would not be entirely practical. People make a big deal out of the slow charging but hey it's not a Tesla, it also doesn't carry that price tag. The car drives like a dream, is fantastic in snow and Super quiet and tight. It's a fantastic car.

Did you need to buy a charger for your garage?

The lease deals on the 6 right now are crazy good.
SE trim is $239/mo with zero down (other than 1st month payment) for 24 months

It's also a way better vehicle than the Solterra/bz4x twins which frankly just suck in most aspects.
link please.

Don't be ridiculous. Panels retain, on average, 90% of their efficiency after 20 years. Nobody scraps them after 10-15 years.

You complain a lot about problems while offering no solution or doing anything about it. People need alternative energy sources, even the coal boys need green energy.

People don't know. They're living in the stone age. I installed an array in 2008 that was rated for 16k watts. It's actual production was around 14k on a full sun day, it still produced 13.5 as of last yea, and those panels are old tech, with hazing and oxidation. The biggest issues is the plastic connectors breaking.

Monetary base and money in circulation are two different things. Look at a graph of M1 over time. It's pretty obvious the increase in M1 supply fueled inflation. Only a partisan economist would say otherwise.
