This should be $61 in a couple of months. PC market has been taking a beating lately.

I got it for $61 on Amazon Sep 2023. Do we have a shortage of SSDs?

No but they are claiming prices are inflating 10 - 15% this quarter

Was it not an over-abundance / over-production of SSDs and the like that drove prices down, and then they cut back production to get the prices back up?

Pretty much, it seems like this happens like every 2 years lol. We were doing so good. I thought 2TB would be $60 for high performance Gen4 drives right now from how it was going

This was special though, the global pandemic caused a decrease in production which combined with a surge of demand had them over correct leading to excess stock availability. Which is why prices kept falling. But chip manufacturers like Micron and Samsung already stated they are cutting back on production, so do not expect that price to happen again anytime soon.

TeamGroup has many 2TB SSDs that are similarly priced, making it confusing to the consumer. For example, this one here [amazon.com] is the same price but has a better MTBF rating. Thoughts?

Bought that one and sent it back. Very slow read and write speeds. My USB hard drive was faster
