Other drives like the PNY CS900 use a phison controller with a small 10GB static cache and typically drop to 100MB/s writes once this fills up on large file writes. Still faster than most people's internet connection and reads are plenty fast enough.
Both drives are adequate for general usage but still a step down in quality, reliability, and longevity compared to a drive with DRAM like an MX500 or 870 EVO. It's also almost half the price though.
I don't know how often people are going to fill a 660GB write cache. My guess is not that often.

I've heard that the sustained write speeds are kinda weak on teamgroup products but never tried it myself to verify, and probably varies depending on the product. Probably worse with the flash drives though. I think the SSD like this are better.
Anyway the good news is that write would not be common for you. And read speeds are supposed to be no issue, making your use case perfect.
