it's that the ethernet connection from the monitor will pass through usb-c to the laptop, so it gives the laptop a hard wired internet connection when plugged into the monitor

Ips, Ethernet, 90w usb c; this hits all points for productivity! Gaming will suffer due to 60Hz (you really want >= 120hz) but otherwise solid monitor for a new price

It also has built-in speakers. Plus 3yrs warranty. Excellent deal.

3800R has the Radius of 3800mm ~ 3.8m. The greater the radius the less curved it is. Imagine you draw a circle with a big radius, and then take a portion of the circumference then that portion is more straight compared to the same portion of the circumference of a circle whose radius is shorter.
1000R is very curved in my experience. I think they meant 1800R because it's a standard for a 34" monitor.
I went to LGs website, and a couple others, and all show this as 3800r. Every spec here looks great, just concerned 3800r will mean the curve is less comfortable than a more aggressive curve. Going to go with a 3 monitor setup so leaning the VA at 1000r, but welcome any more thoughts anyone with experience might have

I tried 1000R and it's very curved for me, almost to the point it's like a dome view and things start to have fishbow effect. I'm using the 1800R and I think it's perfect. I have not opened my delivered package yet but I think if anything the less curved it is the more comfortable than the curved one. If you have 3 1000R clustered together I think there will be "gaps" between them, if you know what I mean.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was wondering about and needed to hear. My other two monitors I have now are 27in QHD that I plan to run in portrait mode on the side of the 34. I just needed to hear from someone on the curve as the Costco VA at 1000r, in my imagination, seemed to sound more comfortable, even though the specs on this IPS beat the Acer VA in almost every way (for a productivity setup in my case, not competitive gaming).

Got the monitor earlier today and just set it up. Love it so far. My use for this monitor is almost strictly work related. It replaces an LG 34WP60C, which I also really like. The built-in hub in this monitor is simply amazing! I had no idea such a thing existed until this deal popped up. Probably a good thing, because I would've paid retail to have it if I did. Was previously using three different cables for power (usbc), video(hmdi), and audio(usb), which is now all combined into just one usb-c! So much easier to unhook the laptop and go. The curvature of this screen is not nearly as pronounced as my previous aforementioned LG monitor that I was using. It's a very slight curve, to the point where it makes little difference for a monitor that's completely flat. Not a big deal at all for me, but it may be an issue for others who are specific about it and want a curvier monitor. The speakers on this monitor on the other hand are for last resort use only. I hooked up an external speaker set through the monitor's usb and they're operating great. Overall, extremely happy with the monitor.

One thing I noticed is that the center of the screen is noticeably brighter than sides, especially in various shades of grey. Not sure if it's from the curve, or ambient lighting.

Damn, that is bad backlight uniformity in lower quality monitors that I was hoping isn't a thing with this curved monitor.

I can't stand this in monitors so if mine has that I'll definitely return.

I bought it to use with my MacBook Pro M1. Delivery is for Monday.
Let me know how the set up went. Should be no problem. Just would like to know.

Was so excited to get this I forgot that it's USB-C and not Thunderbolt. My NAS transfer speeds dropped from about 70MB/s (which is already kind of slow IMO) to 35MB/s through this LG monitor. May be a deal breaker for me. Any experts want to chime in? I would think that USB-C should not be slower for gigabit ethernet. I suspect the USB-C cable included could be USB 2.0.

Got the monitor today and to my surprise it's a used 34 in LG monitor with no stand included in it. the back panel is not there, and I didn't bother to power on. Returning it. bad luck.

No, it's not backlight bleeding, more like viewing angle. If you move from side to side, the color are fine wherever you are head on; If you step back 6 feet, it looks perfectly fine; If you carefully adjust ambient light, it becomes less noticeable.

I'm not exactly sure what it is, maybe there's not enough curve, or maybe because my window is on the side?

You can try save the following as test.html and view in full screen, or the https://www.eizo.be/monitor-test/ page 7 Uniformity, which is mostly grey.

I never said bleeding. I think it's uniformity issue, viewing angle usually comes into play when viewing off nominal and not straight on.

But that is the exact thing I notice in cheaper monitors, I returned the MSI mag401qr (ips) that I otherwise liked because of that, and ips is supposed to be known for better viewing angles.

My theory is cheaper backlighting, my 27" dell is perfectly uniform/viewing angles and the 40" had those lighting bands well within the 27" width

I tried drag a file between two machines and it's around 35M/s; used a last-known-good cable, same; Switched back to wifi and goes up to 60-70M/s; Tried hardwired to another really really old machine (intel gen2), 112M/s. Attached T7 to the back, 40M/s

So it's Gbps nic over type-c 3.0 uplink? I rarely do demanding local transfers, or expecting anything from USBs in the back, but this is really concerning. Thanks for the heads up!

Edit: stupid math error, so it's type-c 2.0 Mad Seriously considering giving it up Frown
