it's that the ethernet connection from the monitor will pass through usb-c to the laptop, so it gives the laptop a hard wired internet connection when plugged into the monitor

Is anyone having trouble with the audio over USB C? I've tried two MacBooks and the audio is choppy and seems to be "fast forwarding" videos on YouTube when I switch the output to the monitor.

Final answer on the hub thing. According to user manual
  • In order to use Ethernet in the PC, the USB-C cable must be connected to the PC.
  • When the USB C-C cable is connected between upstream port of monitor and Host PC, the Downstream port of monitor support USB 2.0 device
  • When the USB C-A cable is connected between upstream port of monitor and Host PC, the Downstream port of monitor support USB 3.0 device.
  • Monitor's network show up in Windows as Realtek USB GbE Family Controller, also tried latest Realtek driver
So,
  • If you use HDMI/DP for display and a USB C-A cable, you can get the hub in the back working on 3.0. But that probably defeats half the reasons of having this monitor.
  • If you want a clean setup with single USB-C cable, your network is capped at around 30-40M/s. Whether that's deal breaker, depends on everyone's use case.

Mine just arrived. First impression is that it works just fine with MacBook Air M2. I like it, I will be keeping it and use it as my primary work-from-home monitor.
  • is 300 nits enough? Plenty for me. In my office about 80% brightness looks right to me. I was using my previous monitor at 60% so yes this is not as bright. compared to my old 2010 24" 1080p Dell LCD monitors, it's much brighter.
  • is 60hz enough? Plenty for me.
  • Fantastic stand, full adjustment and great range. I always use my monitors at eye level and this is at the right level when pushed to the max height-10inches from desk to bottom of monitor.
  • you can split the monitor in half with two separate inputs.
  • Screen brightness is uniform BUT edges appear slightly dark unless you move your head to be in front of the content. Not enough to bother me on movies or giant spreadsheets, but I would be careful mastering calibrated content on this monitor. I can't actually tell that the brightness is different at the edge unless I'm looking at a white screen.
  • I might have preferred more curve. It is curved but nearly flat. It's nice that I can get close or sit back and it doesn't really distort.
  • Ethernet port is gigabit, 10/100/1000. My home internet tops out at 32Mbps and that's what I get through the monitor.
  • Built in speakers actually good enough for zoom calls, but be aware that speaker volume control is on the back of the monitor.
  • Supports HDR (not all monitors support HDR on MacOS), but in HDR mode some screen customization controls disappear.
  • Monitor is thick, my webcam won't sit on top properly.

It seems this monitor is same as Dell P3424WE, Dell web site says below about two inputs:

"Multitask efficiently: Connect two PC sources to the monitor—our intelligent Auto KVM feature detects the second connected PC and seamlessly switches controls over. KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) allows you to control both PCs with a single keyboard and mouse.

Can you confirm that the LG monitor has the same Auto KVM feature?

Yes, it sure does. Interesting that these are essentially the same monitor. What is odd is that the Dell P3424WE says that the USB-C port is 3.2 Gen 1 (power up to 90W). If that is the case, then why wouldn't the LG version support faster Ethernet/Data transfer speeds? As someone else said earlier, they must have included a USB 2.0 Cable or is the USB-C Interface limited? I need to try a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1/2 cable to see if it makes a difference.
