it's that the ethernet connection from the monitor will pass through usb-c to the laptop, so it gives the laptop a hard wired internet connection when plugged into the monitor

Ips, Ethernet, 90w usb c; this hits all points for productivity! Gaming will suffer due to 60Hz (you really want >= 120hz) but otherwise solid monitor for a new price

It also has built-in speakers. Plus 3yrs warranty. Excellent deal.

Can anyone comment as to whether the multi-source feature would work with a macbook and PC attached simultaneously?

You can place mac/pc side by side on the same screen, but it only allows 50/50 split. Some models seem to have 5:9 and 9:5, which I was expecting but unfortunately not this one.

You can also use Dual Controller to move mouse cross the two, haven't tried yet. But it's only possible on the same network. So if you have a home computer and company's laptop on VPN, it won't work.

Not till after I received this monitor have I started realizing it's too big for my expensive monitor arm: i have recently purchased and installed the relatively expensive fully jarvis monitor arm which holds up to 32" size monitor and 19 pounds max weight limit. This monitor is under the weight limit but exceeds the size limit. would it still work with my new monitor arm? i would hate to give up the monitor arm as it is one of the best things that has happened to my tedious desk bound day life. And I would hate to have to return this monitor too.

Final answer on the hub thing. According to user manual
  • In order to use Ethernet in the PC, the USB-C cable must be connected to the PC.
  • When the USB C-C cable is connected between upstream port of monitor and Host PC, the Downstream port of monitor support USB 2.0 device
  • When the USB C-A cable is connected between upstream port of monitor and Host PC, the Downstream port of monitor support USB 3.0 device.
  • Monitor's network show up in Windows as Realtek USB GbE Family Controller, also tried latest Realtek driver
So,
  • If you use HDMI/DP for display and a USB C-A cable, you can get the hub in the back working on 3.0. But that probably defeats half the reasons of having this monitor.
  • If you want a clean setup with single USB-C cable, your network is capped at around 30-40M/s. Whether that's deal breaker, depends on everyone's use case.

Have fun deal hunting

Adding a link for reference.

This is incredibly stupid. Had some thunderbolt cables on order arriving today, but if that's true I'm returning these for sure. What a shame.

I've got an m1 MacBook air. I recently got a d6000 dock from Dell that allows displaylink [synaptics.com] software to display out to a second monitor. Doubt that this monitor has it, but figured I would ask if anyone has tried, as I cannot seem to find the info
No. This monitor does not have DisplayLink.
I have a D6000 dock and MacBook Air. This monitor does not have a DisplayLink chip like the D6000.

Sadly my network interface keeps dropping connection, about every ten minutes the network adaptor loses DHCP IP address...

Anyone else run into this issue? any fixes?

I'm running the connection through a network switch which then uplinks to a Asus router. Never had problems on any computers or D6000 dock, so new issue for me with this new monitor... When it works, it works fine.

Just got this. Color looks great. Text looks sharp (using this with Mac mini M2). But it's barely curved so not as comfy as my Dell U3417W. And both sides look faded when I use my peripheral vision.

Check to see if there are any spots where you can tighten the arm to allow it to carry more weight and not drop monitor. Have had to do that before when I got an ultrawide.

Weight should be the true limiting factor.

Good monitor for the price but too bad no DP daisy chaining. I like having 1 cable connect all my monitors together from my PC vs multi cables. Also my laptop supports up to 4 external monitors & no way to do that without DP daisy chaining.

There are some power saving smart sleep settings in there, try turn them off

EDIT 3: I finally figured out that the built-in Network Adapter is a USB Realtek 8153 version 31, and this uses the older ECM drivers on MacOS. These drivers are known to have problems on Osx... I'll just get another USB ethernet adapter using Realtek 8156BG which should give me the newer native drivers.

EDIT 2: Nope, it doesn't work. I now suspect I just have a faulty Network Port *but* at the slickdeal price I'll just live with it since I'm not sure it's worth the hassle to fix it.

EDIT: WELL, after turning "Deep Sleep Mode" Off, I network has been stable for an entire workday. I guess there's a firmware error where "Deep Sleep" starts too quickly.

I was having connection issues while the monitor was active (not standby), but I'll turn "Deep Sleep" off and see if that helps. It does say this in the manual.

• usB HuB functions will not work in standby mode while Deep sleep Mode is [Mode 2].

Audiophiles beware : the headphone jack in the monitor is not great as audio-line-passthrough.
  1. There is a slight bit of distortion and I can detect audible white noise in the monitor's headphone jack when playing nothing. Most people will be fine with this but audiophiles will hate it.
  2. The headphone jack's volume can only be controlled using the joystick on the back of the monitor.
I plugged an Apple USB-C dongle into the monitor using USB-C-to-USB-A adapter and that sounds much cleaner. I'll use this setup since I can have better audio-pass-through while still having single-cable convenience for my laptop. The Apple USB-C dongle also allows software volume control so I don't have to reach behind the monitor.

Anyone who might be looking for a versatile monitor arm, this one works perfectly: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X48X...ct_details
I can move the monitor up and down with ease and it has a USB port on the base, which is a nice bonus. I have this mounted on the grommet hole of our sit/stand desk and it is great!

The same company also offers this one for $79, currently with a 30% off coupon: https://www.amazon.com/HUANUO-Ult...B0CMQN82K5 and it can hold even more weight, but does not have a USB Port on the base.
