Any games that they are offering more $ for trade in than the game costs new? I remember a few years back they were offering $15 trade-in for The Division 2 meanwhile Best Buy was selling it for $5 new. Slickest deal of all time.

Lots of angry kiddos mad at gamestop. They'll be sad when there's no more "owning" games because physical isn't an option anymore.

Ya'll are the problem.
There would still be plenty of physical game retailers if Gamestop fails. Their business practices are awful. Most of the people you see propping up Gamestop online are stockholders.

You obviously missed the Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked (GCU) days where they let you print up as many copies of their monthly discount coupons as you wanted and those stacked with sales prices. Getting multiple copies of various games for free and trading them in to Gamestop and even back to Best Buy along with other places (Blockbuster and Hollywood Video still existed then) was insane.

Between Fairytale Fights, some Nerf game bundle (the Nerf rifle even traded
into Gamestop) and Sudoku Ball Detective for DS I racked up a ton of free credit.

Thanks OP, I was holding onto some trade fodder for the usual "Trade X, Get XX% Extra" deal but this is even better by 10%.

For people who want to know how to calculate the EXACT trade-in credit value you're going to get for a game, go here: https://www.gamestop.com/trade/?c...eView=list [gamestop.com]

Search for the game you want to trade in (make sure it's the exact title/edition/system as shown) and find the "Store Credit" value under "Regular Value". Using Super Mario Bros. Wonder as an example, it's listed as $35 as of today (4/4/2024).

Take the Store Credit Regular Value ($35) and multiply it by 1.5 if you're *not* a Pro Member. If you're a Pro Member, take the Store Credit Regular Value and multiply it by 1.6. For example, a Pro Member trading in Super Mario Bros. Wonder for store credit will get $35 x 1.6 = $56.
I always wondered this and couldn't click it into my head. Thanks for the help! lol

Oh wow, it's showing "up to $38.50" for Mario Wonder which would be $57.75 credit. Unreal if so, I'll find out in a couple of days.
It would actually be $56.

They should have let this place burn
Last visit I made was to get a used steam deck for 260 out the door and it was as awful as always.

It was filthy, the floors looked like they'd never been vacuumed, the cashier tries to pressure sell you digital magazines (?) and subscriptions and then had to deal with the wandering 45 yr old man who bought a Funko Pop two hours ago but hasn't left the store. Like no, I don't want to talk to you about Pokemon cards, these are for my 9 year old.

The store runs on nostalgia and broken dreams.

It's a great place and I love going there. Sorry you've had a bad experience. That said, not even close to burning. It's a profitable company with no debt.

I still haven't used all my store credit from the last time they ran this trade-in promo. I'm good, not to mention after they removed the $5 monthly certificate on Game cards I no longer support Gamestop and once my store credit hits $0 I will never walk in there again and watch them crash and burn with a tub of popcorn.

I'm with you, the $5 credit does nothing for me, since you can't apply it to anything except for stuff that's already marked up. I have no reason to go in there anymore.

Yeah, I canceled my pro membership when they removed that certificate. I've only walked in once in the past 6 months (when they had the last trade promo) whereas before I would go in every month.

Also, I used some credit to set up store pickup and accidentally chose the wrong store, and there was no way to transfer the pickup and no way to get the credit back. 11k points down the drain!

I'll never get why people have such an irrational hate towards this store. So silly.

Does anyone know if you need the case when you trade in games?

No, you don't need a case.

You don't need a case, but your trade value will be reduced accordingly.

EDIT: I was wrong about this. There is no difference between disc only and CIB value.
