Although much slower then a M1, these make great low power plex servers. The igpu's quicksync is plenty capable at transcoding for 3+ users. You could then free up your Mac mini for something else.

Wouldn't this be better? I believe the n95 and n100 are pretty similar in performance, plus it's amazon vs some company that paid Slickdeals to hock their wares.

N100 version is same price after $10 discount. I have N100 version which is connected to my Samsung S89C 77" OLED TV. 4K YouTube contents works flawlessly with 5.1 surround sound. No more Samsung Tizen TV.

How would this compare to an m1 Mac mini for running a Plex server? My server is only used for home. Maybe 2 - 3 viewers at once on different devices max. Usually just 1 or 2 people.
I run my plex server on an n100 running ubuntu and it handles multiple directplay streams fine, but it can start to choke if you have multiple simultaneous 4k to 1080p transcodes. If you run plex natively or in a container, it can access the quicksync features of the CPU which helps with transcodes but there's still a bit of overhead (if you run in a VM it cannot access quicksync).

The n100 is far weaker than your m1 mac mini. Is the plex server transcoding? Run plex server on linux to get around limitations if you get the n100.
N100 is much better for plex server if you transcode

What is the SEi12 good for?
Computing... The 12650h vs N100
The 12650h is almost x2 faster single core and almost x4 faster multi core.

It depends on what you want from your computer. If you want base stuff like web browsing and email checking with low power draw get an N100. Honestly for around $500-$600 I would want something that could use an external GPU down the road, and a cpu that is fast with a capable iGPU like the 7940hs.

Why buy this when u can get a better known Beelink brand. Same specs. for same or slightly lower price?
I checked some of the Beelink PCs and it does not state which OS is installed. This one comes with Windows 11 Pro. Supposedly lol. I do wonder how the company would be making any money of these things, a license for the OS does not come cheap. Maybe it's different for companies vs individuals.

The main difference between N95 and N100 is really power consumption/heat and noise - and it is a hair better on performance as you said.

N100 can run passive, N95 cannot.

I got a different N100 as a Plex server + running other docker's. It has been great, no problem with handling 5+ simultaneous 4K transcoding. The iGPU is plenty powerful for Plex.
I also run Frigate to do security camera detection and recording. No complaints there either.

They're usually volume licenses from companies that have bulk surplus that get piggybacked on.

They can get deactivated at any time, but there's little chance in that happening.

And since you're buying in good faith, the easily accessible illegal activation methods like massgravel are fairer game.

If you're just viewing at home and your devices can handle native content, you shouldn't need transcoding at all.

The biggest load would be on your network and storage.

For reference, a Raspberry Pi 4B can host 4 clients streaming 4K using direct stream and ethernet.
