Amazon Prime members can begin claiming their free copy of Fallout 76 starting on Thursday, April 11. That's just in time for the show's bumped-up premiere. It's worth noting that PC users will receive a GOG.com key for the game. Fallout 76 is currently not available via GOG.com, which seems to indicate that a DRM-free version of the game will soon be available from that storefront.
Fallout 76 (on PC) requires no monthly payment to play. There is stuff you can buy with real money but it isn't pay to win.

I didn't play Fallout 76 until about 4 months ago so I can't comment of how it was, just now it is. Very Fallout 4-ish.. Currently about 50 hours in. Fun but now there is so much content that I kinda stopped playing. I'm not a 100 percenter but I also like to play the main campaign all the way through. Just so much there now the light at the end of the tunnel is too far off for me. Probably won't play much more.
Interesting, an Xbox code for Fallout 76. I don't think we've had a Xbox code before.

But do you still get to keep the game in your Epic Games account after unlinking? Or does it remove the game?

You need to have Xbox live gold sub to play fallout 76, don't you?

Edit:. Paid subscription is required since it's an online multiplayer game..
FO76 was such a mess last time I played. Nothing to do. No NPCs anywhere. It was literally a barren wasteland ergo Fallout.

To play on Xbox, you need Xbox live gold/xbox game pass core, right? So it's not really free for Xbox side

Does Fallout 76 require a monthly subscription or can you play all the way through without any purchases required? I've always been confused about this game but curious. This is one of those games that apparently improved over time significantly vs day 1 release.
No but inventory management eventually becomes an issue if you're a Fallout hoarder like me, and they try to sell you the solution via Fallout 1st (a monthly sub). I think that's pretty scummy. Other than that I think the game is quite fun.

It was like that when it first released, but everyone complained so they added NPCs with the Wastelanders update

Just want to say that Chivalry II is an absolute riot. Definitely worth messing around with if it's free.

Is Fallout 76 even worth it for free? I'm not being funny or anything but I heard at least at launch of it was a total disaster.

That was the point, the story was told through environmental set pieces, notes, and audio recordings. The barren wasteland was epic, but apparently a bulk of the gaming community did not appreciate the format, so they added a bunch of NPCs and new quests on a large update.

Overall, its probably the best Bethesda Fallout game so far, even as a single player experience, but it does lack a true end game other than collecting Rare outfits and plans. Still a couple hundred hours of content, easy, and the map is amazing to just wander around in.

I believe so if you're on Xbox console, but if you're on PC it's free.

As long as you don't take it too serious. The content is definitely "worth it" for free. You can easily get a few hundred hours out of it before it gets repetitive. Most of the major game breaking bugs have been fixed, just don't expect a perfectly polished product.
