PF is great and I quote him a lot for things he does test where I trust his methodology. Toasters I think I would go with https://www.rtings.com/toaster (who also didn't test this toaster) since they went more scientific and more in depth than his testing. Kitchen knives is something he tests and this is also something that I reference America's Test Kitchen more often.
