The locking mechanism of these bowls is iffy. It is spring-loaded, and if the spring is dislodged, they are unusable. We returned ours to Costco as the bowl costs $50+

We use ours for making dough, grating or slicing veggies, mixing oatmeal pancakes. It gets used more than our blender or hand mixer.

This reminded me that I think my ex-girlfriend with Borderline Personality Disorder still has my food processor. $66 seems like a great deal compared to contacting her to retrieve my old one...

Thanks for posting!

Ah damn I just bought 13 cup from Costco for $120.
Should I return and get this instead?

I think this is the lowest price on a new Cuisinart 11 cup food processor I have ever seen. Bought the $50 9 cup KitchenAid unit from the recent Best Buy sale. That one has a 250W motor and works pretty well for things like nut butter and hummus. Couldn't resist picking up this 550w 11 cup Cuisinart at this price for slightly larger batches or when more power is needed. This is not their heaviest duty model, but can't complain at this price. The next level above this would be the Costco 13 cup unit on sale for $120. Couldn't justify spending another $53 on that one though.

I also have a KitchenAid stand mixer and multiple blenders, but when it comes to making hummus or nut butters, nothing comes close to my KitchenAid food processor. Hoping that this Cuisinart fp works as well for those purposes as I never use food processors for chopping veggies etc. Easier to just use a knife and a cutting board for that.

Thanks, just bought one, ours just broke. We bought another Costco one that was on sale for $30 I believe, but it just didn't work well.

This model appears to be the same one I've had for about 4 years and it's been a workhorse.

Good deal but this is a kitchen appliance that would collect dust for most people. Seriously though, how often do people need it or use a food processor? I rest my case.

every time i make soup, i use my breville food processor to peel my potatoes. once that's done i put in the dicer blade and dice all my veggies. it has a 16 cup bowl, so it can take it all in one shot without having to be emptied. saves a lot of time. same with salsa. it takes no time at all to make.

For the price, you really can't go wrong here.
That said, the 14-Cup DFP-14BCNY is on sale for $199 on Amazon right now: https://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-...01AXM4WV2/

While larger, and more expensive, this really is the model to get. It's venerated in much the same way the Vitamix 5200 is.
