I think you should put not 49.99 price in the title but 69.99 as a new line of 20 bucks is required.

Saw it added to their website yesterday but it was not in stock.
Called to order through customer service but order didn't go through.

Tried again on the website and was able to order one just now.

Better than buying the Costco WI-FI only version for double the price!

Don't ask me how I know this...

You're getting that reply because your browser couldn't connect to the authentication server Metro uses.

Could be an adblocker, host file, etc. Or even your ISP could be doing it.

The simple answer is to turn off any and all adblockers, script blockers etc.

When everything is working correctly you'll see three challenge questions to authenticate your identity.

And before you say it, yes they do this even if you've already logged in with your Metro account to purchase the tablet. It seems they do the three challenge questions on every order regardless of whether you're already a customer or not.

To sum it up, you need to find what's blocking the connection to that authentication server. I found that turning off all adblocking etc, and opening an incognito tab on my phone, which had WIFI off, and connecting through my mobile network fixed this problem several times.

Good luck

So if you dont already have Metro service, looks like you have to sign up for 1 month of BYOD phone service for
$30, then add the tablet+ service for $70, making the whole thing $100

correct me if I'm wrong here?
Yes but you could also just buy one of their phones for free with a number transfer and get the $40 plan then get this tablet and service. Spend an extra $10 vs BYOD and get a new phone that you can sell if not needed

My thoughts exactly. If you don't care for that $20 plan/sim, you should be able to use the tablet just as a regular WIFI only tablet, without Metro activation, or after canceling the service at the end of the first month. Can only be confirmed if anyone had such experience or wait until one of us get the tablet.
It probably makes sense to activate it so that it unlocks in 6 months

This requires that you get the phone in hand after a few days, then order the tablet? Or can this be done at the same time in one order? Tablet is going in and out of stock. If 2 orders are needed, there's a chance tablet will be oos by the time you get the phone.

I wonder what you could do with an unused phone??
eBay or FB marketplace will snag them up at cost price.
Phone will be opened and also locked to Metro for 6 months, right?

I see Iphone 12 for $99 is a future trade in device.

The A7 Lite has not been in stock for a few weeks and I assume they won't be restocking it as it's 2 generations old.

This is the current Gen tablet and I'm sure Metro will continue to carry it. So it will be back in stock.

But I don't understand Samsung philosophy behind the storage capacity.
Cheapest A15 is $40 at metro with 128GB
A9+ is $80 with ONLY 64GB

Phones get additional subsidies because it's more profitable to attract a customer with 0 upfront cost and have them remain on Metro's $40-$60 plan.

Tablets are perfectly usable on WiFi with another phone's hotspot, so there's a good chance users won't keep the plan for very long.

4GB RAM is a bummer and the A9+ could struggle running certain apps despite being a recent release.

The 8GB+128GB model is a big upgrade. Unfortunately those carriers only stock the basic model.

I have 2 old lines. One 25 and one 30 and it said I was not eligible. Just had to call and do order through the phone. Got the deal and order confirmation in an email.

Isn't the problem with the A9+ more the processor than the ram? It's just not a very good processor. The Snapdragon 695 is like 50% antutu score compared to the next up Galaxy tablet, the FE. And the FE is just an OK tablet, not a power house or anything.
