- $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
- $225,000 for heads of households
- $150,000 for all other filers
- The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

There's a pattern with Tesla threads here. I don't care if you all wanna discuss the deal or the cars but it always turns into paaaages and paaaages of bickering back and forth and nobody ,except for the few involved, enjoy that or wanna wade through that. So cut that stuff out, please and thank you.

The weight, the fact they tell you 100% charge is fine, and slower 0-60 all tell you it's an LFP battery that isn't software locked.
What would be the point in software locking a pack they only use in standard range vehicles?
Are you maybe confusing the current vehicle with the AWD 4680 one they were selling for a while but haven't sold recently?
You can get the credit via leasing, but can't buy it at the end.
The 2023 SR model Y qualified for the federal tax credit while the SR model 3 did not because the SR model Y isn't LFP (mineral sourcing requirements did not allow LFP vehicles to qualify)
Also with proper preconditioning, I've pulled over 200kW on a supercharger. LFP batteries would have topped off well under that at around 175kW

that's a concise video pointing to multiple details that correlate with the standard range model y having a software locked battery.
Software locking was done because it's cheaper than retooling a manufacturing line to fit a different battery in the same car. When I picked up my SR model Y, the service advisors also mentioned every model y comes badges as AWD and they need to manually remove the badge for SR trims. They also remove the parcel shelf for standard range model Y
I still feel bad for those who bough in 22. Model y Performance were $70K+ and people bought it without hesitation and a smile thinking cars would continue to appreciate. Overnight people learned they got bent over and used for $20-30K

And in general for EVs, the hit on battery longevity is typically from allowing the battery to remain at a high state of charge for a prolonged time or depleting it to empty. If you're charging a battery to a true full state but immediately driving it a good distance (think road trips), the degradation really is minimal
