There's a pattern with Tesla threads here. I don't care if you all wanna discuss the deal or the cars but it always turns into paaaages and paaaages of bickering back and forth and nobody ,except for the few involved, enjoy that or wanna wade through that. So cut that stuff out, please and thank you.
FYI just because it says "New" doesn't mean it qualifies for the 7500 tax credit. Demo models are new but do not qualify for 7500. If the specific inventory item qualifies it will directly say it on the site.

Why are you stopping for an hour to add the amount of charge that should take about 5-10 minutes?
How do you have $2400 in repairs for a car that should've been in full warranty until this year? (and still is for powertrain) unless you drive an unusually high # of miles.
A slew of things led me to do this. Preference in what restaurants are near this particular Supercharger station, the number of chargers, ease of access. I sit down and have a meal and a beer now, so it helps me get over the drive.
I drive a lot for work, so I'm over warranty. The silver lining is I make a killing mileage reimbursement from my company.
We did not install any fast charger at home, my wife gets FREE CHARGING at work. We trickle charge (using a regular plug... 1% per hour) during the weekends at night if needed.
And we use the supercharging network when we go on long Trips. Such as Boston to Montreal (have already done) and we are doing Boston to Washington DC in a few weeks.
We purchased our car on February 29 and picked up our car in early March and we also go 5,000 FREE supercharging miles. And we will have full automatic driving (everyone has it for free for one month) during our long trip to Washington D.C.
For US, EV's work really well. But we also have two gas vehicles. Subaru Forester (more used for work) and Mazda6 (my personal car).
Same here. Cold weather and driving more on highways is the double edge sword. The new model 3 standard range can be charged to 100% every day. This should be the norm for every car and model. Unfortunately batteries either in phones, laptops or cars are efficient between 20-80% range… so we cannot take advantage of 40% worth of miles unless we use this 40% occasionally…
The Model Y range is way over optimistic, unlike some EV's (Porsche, Rivian) where the range is more reflective of real world. Someone mentioned that they are getting about $0.07 cents/mile. Unless the superchargers in TX lower the price to < $0.25/KWH and somehow the Tesla Model Y lose weight (remember the Model Y is a very heavy car compared to the Model 3), my YLR costs more than $0.07/mile. This is for road trips over 200+ miles, driving at speed of 75-80MPH, where 18-wheelers don't run you over for being too slow. Some 18-wheelers in TX highway are zooming 80+MPH, insane!
Tesla makes the best EV. Elon pushed the industry forward. Elon is a clown. Lexus / Toyota makes the most reliable cars. If you have solar or cheap electricity (under 20 cents per kwh) EVs are the cheapest mode of personal travel over time even factoring in battery replacement costs. Cars are not an investment. The supercharging network is great. Charging at home is awesome. Anyone that thinks Tesla will die as a car company is delusional.
If you can charge at home, with solar, or have lower cost power an EV will save you money. Model Y is one of the best selling cars in the world, there is a reason for that.
Elon is a clown? But you're the one that made me laugh 😂
First-hand experience from an actual EV owner who moved from ICE. That article is Bull Chit, and 80% click and bate.
read the last paragraph from the article.
"Nonetheless, reports suggest refueling EVs will get cheaper as renewable capacity expands and vehicle efficiency improves. Consequently, the future of EV sales and adoption in the United States looks promising."

lol half of the people commenting on here can't even afford this car so not sure why they are on here putting in their 2 cents.
Anyways I bought mine in late Feb with the extra $1k off. I feel like I got a great deal and love it so far. Very fun and fast car to drive!!!!!!!! If you are in the market buy it now... I never understood waiting to buy something you really want just to save a couple of dollars. That only means you didn't really want it in the first place. Oh well my 2 cents lol!!!
You didn't get a great deal because electric is the suxxors.

The only difference is the corolla will last 20 years and if you are lucky you won't have to scrap the tesla before 10.
You're kidding right? The model 3 is 1000 times nicer than a Corolla !! Accept the fact. Also, model Y out sold Corolla and Rav4 in 2023. HUM, why is that?
In typical Telsa fashion, no details. Is it a new design, rehashed current model or just a software service update. Who knows what and when it will happen.

Well it's their model 2 fleet with no steering wheels. New design.
