There's a pattern with Tesla threads here. I don't care if you all wanna discuss the deal or the cars but it always turns into paaaages and paaaages of bickering back and forth and nobody ,except for the few involved, enjoy that or wanna wade through that. So cut that stuff out, please and thank you.
FYI just because it says "New" doesn't mean it qualifies for the 7500 tax credit. Demo models are new but do not qualify for 7500. If the specific inventory item qualifies it will directly say it on the site.

I remember, I placed a $$$ deposit on the model 3 tesla . I waited and waited. I decided to cancel my order and purchased a Toyota RAV4 prime. Glad I did. No range anxiety. I get 50 mile range with all electric before the engine kicks in. My commute is 40 miles a day. The best part, I received the $7500 federal tax rebate and I did not pay over MSRP. GREAT DEPENDABLE car. GLAD I did not buy the Tesla, the Tesla used car market is falling faster and faster.
How did you get the $7500 federal tax rebate? Was this before IRA EV changes? I don't think it's offered anymore in 2024 for the Rav4 Prime. Currently I see Toyota is offering $6500 Toyota Cash if leased on Rav4Prime which isn't the$7500 federal tax credit.
I am looking at getting a Rav4Prime and would like to save $7500 if possible.
I still drive my Prius 2005 and getting 50mpg. 2nd battery (diy replacement). Very happy about it Once it dies - will think about Tesla (if no nuclear war).
I regret buying mine due to build quaility and poor service but the acceleration really is fast
Good acceleration with poor build & service quality is a perfect recipe for disaster!
My personal opinion for long: Tesla has miles to go to call them reliable!

My son (16 year old) recently got license. Is it possible to buy car under his name (to quality for tax credit). I guess if I am the co-owner, we cannot get tax credit, is that right?
It's advance tax credit you get discounts $7500 on MRP at the time of purchase tesla. It shouldn't be issue.
When is the refreshed MY coming? I would like to have ventilated seats and as per what I have read, it is a feature that will be added in the refreshed MY.
Coming soon probably next year. Should be same feature transferred from Hiland to Juniper.
Why is everyone stating you need a $7,500 tax liability? Didn't Edmund's and other publications come out and state the IRS changed this to point of sale for this exact reason? They agreed to enforce the income limit but if your liability was not met they were not enforcing it.
That was the whole point of the change and offering the credit to lower income individuals to drive adoption and sales.
Is this not correct?
You're absolutely right. It's point of sell credit. Simple word $7500 cash discount on your MRP Tesla vehicle
