Taxes and fees are included. This is the normal price, so no reason to rush straight into it. So long as you haven't done it in recent past, take advantage of the free month first. Just make sure to cancel it a few days earlier, as they will renew it at that monthly plan a few days before the end of the trial period. You can cancel that and replace it straight into the $72 annual plan from their dashboard. Just did it last month. Perfect plan for a flip phone.

My daughter's on this plan. The data cuts off.

This is not a new deal. They've had this light plan for ages at this price

Is this the best option in the MVNO world if we have a spare iPhone 13 and want to keep it at home 24/7/365? Basically we have no traditional landline, but our oldest child is old enough to be alone if we run to the store for 20 minutes. We aren't ready to get her a full-time cell phone and she has no serious need for one yet, but have been considering something we can leave with her when we run out just in case.

The 1GB data cap is no issue since it would be on Wi-Fi all the time.

Need a cheap data only plan since rarely call or make SMS
Tello may be your good option. No tax for data only plans. Can add some money for paygo calls.

$5 - 1GB/30 days, unlimited text, no calls
$6 - 2GB
$10 - 5GB
$15 - 10GB

Don't forget to get referral for $10 Tello money.

Funny enough, I was just looking at this yesterday.

I plan to switch to the Shareable 2 GB plan for $10/month. It's a little more but includes hot spot data if I ever need it in a pinch. One thing to keep in mind is that the Light Plan does not offer data top-offs at the same rate of $2/GB (the CSR gave me a whole table with various rates but it was $10 for 2 GB).

For those that have ported their numbers to US Mobile before, typically how long does it take?
All of my ports have taken less than 1/2 hour, even ones that had an issue and had to be resubmitted. You can follow the progress on the portal and see the status. One of the problem ports, I could resubmit the info myself and the other one I needed customer service, but once the zip code or porting pin were updated, the number ported quickly.

I ordered the same Tracfone deal, but 8 days later they still haven't shipped it so I called and cancelled this morning in favor of this plan. Spoke to a US Mobile rep a few minutes ago and he lined me out with a starter kit (free with free shipping) and gave me some valuable info on activation and number porting.

I can't comment on data prioritization, but for me data speed not an issue as I use very little outside of WiFi.
*Always port your number on a Monday.* Usually it will be done in 10 minutes or less. But I've ran into issues twice porting to US Mobile where it took a few days. The engineers that handle issues only work regular business hours. So if you port late in the week or on a weekend you'll add a couple days without service.

This isn't the absolute cheapest MVNO out there for a plan like this, but it's close. What sealed the deal for me is that this company is well established and widely reported to provide excellent service, and offers 2 separate networks. I'm with a Verizon MVNO currently and I'm switching to this plan; I expect no changes other than a 70% reduction in my cellphone bill. Kinda kicking myself for not seeking this out sooner.

I tried them a few years ago and it was atrocious. Lost signal half the time. Subpar call quality. Wasn't worth it at any price. Hopefully they have improved since then

If plan to use their Verizon network, it doesn't support WIFI calling for Samsung devices.
I had the same issue during the free trial.

Thank you! Yeah we are with Verizon as our primary cell service, torn on adding this as Verizon or TMO as it wouldn't hurt to have a backup provider just in case.

Either way, good points and appreciate the reply.

Hello Mobile has unlimited talk and text with 500MB data for $5 all in tax included. No need to pay annually. On t-mobile network, don't see how this is a deal.

Huh? I have US Mobile (with the verizon network) and use the wifi calling feature on several samsung phones regularly. It works great you're in the middle of nowhere and have spotty cell coverage but have access to wifi (at a friend's house for example).
I think it depends on which device you have, but I know the ones I use can definitely do wifi calling on us mobile on the verizon network.

I've been using US Mobile for years and am very happy with their plans, coverage , and especially their customer service. It's just a million times better than the service from other providers. You can talk to a live person (or chat online) in seconds and they actually know what they're doing.

Regarding this plan, it's an excellent plan for those who don't really need much data or for an emergency phone for a child or something like that. I highly recommend US Mobile, by far the best value provider out there (as far as mnvo's go) IMO.

Wifi calling on Samsung devices only works on US based SKUs. If you purchased a SKU that was not released in the US, it doesn't work.

Thanks for the info nuetron, that explains why some say it's not available while others (like me) can use wifi calling on sammy devices on the verizon network.
