If you don't want to do that, you have to get a KitchenAid. All these knock offs cannot actually hit the bottom of their bowls. They're all the same standard speced machine made in China with different names. This looks different then the super cheap models, but I would just buy the super cheap unless you 100% know you will be using it often because you bake and cook a lot. The super cheaps are like Frigidaire and Toshiba shells slapped on the same 4.5qt mixer. You can get those for $20-$25. The key with those is you have to help it by scraping the bottom and sides to ensure the dry and wet fully mix. Once that's done, the mixer does fine mixing it all together from there. If you want to be more lazy, you can twist the bowl loose and move it around while the mixer is running, then it will literally scrape the bowl and mix. I don't like that, because I figure there is a reason the manufacturer did not design it to scrape (like destroying either cheap part). I just turn it off, pop it up, detach the beater, and manually scrape the bowl with the beater, then put it back together. Yes it's a bit of a pain, but it is easier on your arm and frees you to work on the next part of the recipe. Despite what anyone says, you can make icing with these mixers.
With all that said, if you kill the super cheap, or this, that's a sign you graduated to truly deserving a KitchenAid. In case it's not obvious, I am currently beating the hell out of a $20 4.5qt. I don't feel the need to throw away the extra $80, or whatever, on something like this instead of putting it towards a KitchenAid. I mean, of I bought this, I spent at least 5x my cost, and if it lasts longer, then I am stuck doing the most annoying part for much longer.
It's truly a shame no other manufacturer can make a quality mixer to compete. I mean they are not even freaking trying. They are banking on the majority of users not utilizing these much like most bread makers end up. A spontaneous purchase, or gift, that's used a handful of times at most.
