I think people need to stop comparing Apple M1/2/3 to Windows, I know is better so I wouldn't be here if I need a "Windows" platform laptop. With that said, I was able to snatch the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 14" last time around for 1K after tax that also comes with a free 2TB SSD. This isn't feel like the great deal per say, I would probably wait a bit around June and see if anything cool happens with the Snapdragon Eite X and the pricing for the other Core Ultra 7 Laptops after.

You know what, I agree with you. I'm struggling to find a reason to justify buying these kinds of intel ultrabooks without dedicated graphics that can't even play games properly. I'm not some sort of office nut to have to require whatever office product that isn't available on the mac os. I would rather just pay more and buy a G14 instead.

I still don't know why people are trying to compare Intel with Apple. Ps5 and Xbox, Chevy and Ford, Google and Apple. Grow up people because no one cares. If you don't want to purchase it and don't like it, then don't comment. Good god.

G14 = 3.64 lbs

Personally I want ultralight weight laptop to take with me on travel. Gaming features not a requirement.

For me it's fun to watch the tards go at it, especially the Apple buyers. The pathetic reasons they give will give me laughs for days and days. Take the above reply for example. He is such a pro at all he does on Mac that he's able to shame PC users. In fact, most are not experts at any of the apps they have except for those that use them professionally. For the likes of people like me, using photoshop in Mac and PC is the fcking same because I don't know enough to say one is better than the other lol. But he does!

I am always amazed that Mac users dive into these PC threads. Stay in your lane. If you want to post, use the "I paid way too much for an ecosystem restrained computer" forum. PC users simply aren't interested in Mac computers.

I think a lot of people are missing the main point of this chip series from Intel outside of it offering really good integrated graphics.

With the 2 ultra low power cores these chips have, it can help extend the battery life pretty dramatically in a lot of everyday type tasks. This laptop specifically has MacBook Air type run times which we all know the MBA is a very efficient machine.

To me these chips and machines using them will make a lot of sense for people who to live a long day unplugged for work/school type purposes specifically.

For $800, seems like a pretty solid deal. Especially considering if you are bumping it up against a MBA you certainly arent getting a 16GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD for anywhere close to $800 there.

pretty confused man...

I kinda need a new laptop just for the updated specs, I got a P14 256, 16gig ram, i5-1135g7 and it's good but the specs need some updating, this has 4 times the storage and a better processor by far.

But

I can't even get 300 bucks for this laptop in Miami, people are beyond cheap, flea market mentality.

One of the biggest improvements on the new Core Ultra CPU's is the graphics performance. It basically is as good as it gets as it trades blows with AMD's latest APU graphics performance. Obviously neither compete with dGPU performance, but you can absolutely do 1080p gaming on this laptop.

Above is what an apple fanboy looks like. Says bs, and spends a lot of effort spreading it.
I like how I'm called an Apple fanboy when I am advocating for AMD products. M series chips are indeed better than x86 based chips from Intel and AMD right now in terms of efficiency. Efficiency is the most important part of a laptop chipset.

And to address the whole concept of walled garden. If you are a developer, you will realize that MacOS is basically a flavor of *Unix. Development on MacOS is exceedingly seamless these days with near universal support for Arm based MacOS. Anyone who makes such claims is either thinking of iOS or has never written a line of code in their life.

It's not a walled garden at all. The only thing a PC can do bette than a Mac is game. That's it. Nothing more. I can video edit better on Mac, photoshop, music creation and actually be productive at work. PCs are convoluted nightmares and you know it. Do I have a gaming PC? Sure do and I use it only for gaming. Mac for everything else!
I actually created alerts for a windows laptop because my work software (quickbooks, 2020 design) and personal software (hondata, motec) only works with windows.

And no, I don't want to run parallel desktop.
