Don't know how useful this is over a regular nail claw, but for $5 it's worth a try. The nail claws always seem to go missing when you need it anyway.
You don't know what you're missing. Once you tie up the claw on the hammer, you've got no hammer. Using claw tools like this frees up the hammer for hammering.
I was thinking the same thing and then I read the reviews. Seems like most of the reviews are part of the seed program so not really trustworthy.

The nail rocker aspect of this looks useful to me. When working on my deck I routinely encounter nails whose head is weakened by rust and pulls off. I use a method similar to rocking the nail with the claw my hammer, but this methods appear easier and quicker... especially since the hammer method requires a sharp claw to grip the shank of the nail. For $5 it is definitely worth it just for my deck.

I saw a video demo where they use the nail rocker to remove nails from trim from the back side of the wood. This looks good for use when removing and reinstalling trim.

The cat's paw is just a bonus..

Looks like a home invasion tool. I'm no contractor but I can usually get nails out with a claw hammer and some effort.

First guy I worked for told me that claws aren't nail pullers. When I asked him what they're for he said, "pulling nails." The point is, if you need to pull a nail, use a nail puller. It is way faster, and he's seen guys break their hammers using them as nail pullers.

Thank you OP. I grabbed the three they had at Lincoln Park HD in Chicago to give to helpers on my upcoming deck job. (I'm gonna keep one after 👍🏼)

The claw on the hammer isn't for pulling nails; it's for straightening nails. This or a tool like is for pulling nails. I get that the claw mostly works, I've certainly seen people break wood handles pulling nails.

I picked this up today. Man it is beefy. Definitely a deal for $5.

I didn't realize it has a swivel side, so definitely more functionality than using a regular hammer to pull nails.

I'll take a regular cat's claw to remove nails. 12" is a little to big for pouches. Would rather have something smaller

Buy 1 if you can find it. Got one off this deal and been using it for 3 days to pull nails and staples from a wood fence - Excellent tool!
It's Not necessary to break the wood surface to pull nails. Also, HD gave me a 13in tool, so maybe rhey ran out of the 12.5in and substituted it. They didn't say anything about it. Probably Best $5 tool around.
