The core is just the Elite 2 but doesn't come with the paddles or alternate sticks/Dpads. Those can now be purchased separately if you want them. The controller still supports all those accessories, just doesn't come with them.
These are fantastic for the battery life alone.

The metal paddles are missing in the core addition of this controller. So if you have the old elites, this is a perfect transition because you should already have the metal paddles.

Packed and extra shit can be picked up from a $60 kit. You do the math…this a legit deal

This is the controller only, no paddles and no charging case.

You can buy separately (I use the SCUF branded ones). It just depends if you need them. Very good for FPS on console like COD (you can jump or other stuff without taking hands off thumbsticks). This is basically really good if you already have an elite v2 like me and want a backup (i.e. already have paddles), or if you just want a high quality controller with the option to add/change/replace stuff down the road.

Also theres a lot of chinesium unbranded xbox elite accessories for the cheap on fleabay and the like.

TL;DR definitely worth it for FPS games, may be useful for others. This controller has many good features built in as well like multiple profiles, programmability on PC, and combo xbox + bluetooth compatible, as well as adjustable triggers and swappable sticks
