I turned on my TV today to see an add on the Home screen of Roku stating I was selected to get 40% off a Roku streaming device.
This says it was a TARGETED ad so YMMV
Roku Express 4K+ is $23.99 instead of $39.99
Roku Streaming Stick 4K is $29.99 instead of $49.99
Roku Ultra is $59.99 instead of $99.99
Free Shipping
Apparently the Ultra is on backorder. When I ordered it, I received an email stating it was on backorder and it estimated shipping at 4/16.

I have three of the 2018 Roku Ultras and while they aren't "slow", they do take a few seconds to load apps. I do have Micro SD cards installed so it's not that it has to re-load the app. I'm just wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience with the two models, and if anyone knows if these current Ultras are still using the 2020 hardware. Google seems to suggest that is the case. Wondering if it would be worth upgrading at all aside from the rechargeable remote.

I don't even have the Apple app on my Roku and it's attempting to talk to Apple thousands of times per day...
How do you block ?
This is true; infrared vs RF remotes. You get what you pay for. The 4K Express is not a bad unit for $25.
I would avoid express
Doesn't look like I qualify for this deal or I might have considered it. My several year old premier seems like it might be dying. I'm starting to get some sparkling and audio break up issues with it that always clear themselves up by a restart of the Roku. I haven't done much else to troubleshoot it yet but it's not giving an overheating message and I don't think it's the cable because I wouldn't expect a reboot to help if the issue is the cable.

Amen to that. Tizen OS is so horrible. Tried to use it on an older Samsung TV I had and ended up buying an Nvidia Shield 2019 (I think that's the newest?) to connect because I couldn't handle trying to deal with Tizen. Personally I think the Shield is insanely overrated for the premium they're charging, especially considering it's using the same processor as the Switch. Or if it's not the exact same one, it's very similar. I just absolutely wouldn't pay $199 for it in 2024. That's absurd. Its only benefit is how it can decode basically anything you throw at it. Give me the simplicity of the Roku any day of the week. Or an ATV. Either or. FireTV is trash, and I think GoogleTV should be a lot better than it is. It's not "bad", but it's not great either.
