Lyca Is the worst! Porting out took me more than a month!!! (Note: I switch carriers every 3 to 6 months … usually takes less than an hour). And they overcharged me. AVOID LYCA AT ANY PRICE!

I have been on a US mobile trial plan and very happy with them, plan to pay for one year out. worth comparing the two.

I also had a good experience with them recently. Getting the account activated was seamless. Porting out wasn't too bad... I had to call customer service, but they gave me the account number and PIN without any delay or hassle at all.

Careful. T&C list Auto enrollment in renewal cannot be disabled for discounts to apply. Not sure if that means you could cancel right after the 90 days. The next 90 is at $60.
you can choose the plan you need before the renewal, auto enrollment can be disabled. there is nothing to really worry about

Anyone tried this with an e-sim yet? I understand they do ship out physical sim, but I hope there's an option to install e-sim via the app or something.

Just activated this and it says my plan expires in a month. Doesn't show that it's on month 1 out of 3 like it does on Mint. Is this normal? Can I expect this to work fine for 90 days?
Mine says the same thing.

Does anyone that has activated this plan show that it expires in 90 days?

Go to the lycamobile app and go to My Plans. It will show the rest of the months in the Reserved Plan section

Very bad customer service. Also you will not get your account and port out pin easily.

What is the point of buying it?
Use WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype, etc. for free.
Unless a someone one on the other end has no mobile phone.
How much data do you get with Whatsapp, and how good is it when you're out on the road? I think you might be comparing apples to chairs.

I haven't tried them but others have said you disable aoutrenewal in your account, after signing up. This is true with other companies I've used.

for $1 more you get 1 more GB + highest priority data with T Mobile Connect. Comparing their 4gb plan to Tmo's 5gb plan.
T-Mobile Connect costs $15 per month for 5 GB, and cheapest plan is $10/month. Lyca deal is $15 for 3 months; way cheaper.

Lyca's pricing is promotional. Afterwards they will charge you $60 for 90 more days. T Mobile's price is the normal monthly price.

Maybe you get lucky with Lyca, but in the 3 times I've used them, it's always been a terrible experience. Activation not working, terrible CS, everything that can go wrong seems to go wrong. Oh and they started randomly taking money out of my account despite not having a contract in place for 6-12 months.

Terms and conditions"......Upon expiration of initial 90-days of service, your payment method will be charged for additional 90-day service periods at the price of $60."

Will Lyca charge you additional $60 for another 90 days service? If so, a total of cost will be $75 for a total of 180 days, right?

How is this compared to Boost Prepaid 5GB/mo for $5/mo? I am using Google Voice with Boost Prepaid right now but have no problem just signing up for a new number. International calling is not useful for me.
