If you don't understand the difference, you're probably used to overbuying wattage on an 80Plus Bronze.
That's fine, but your electric bill would appreciate the Platinum.

An 80Plus Platinum is more efficient at power conversion, thus less overhead wattage (the peak wattage stated on the package) is required to meet the needs of the system.
That correlation in efficiency translates regardless of how much power is being used.
The takeaway here is that less overhead wattage is required to meet the needs of the system. Thus, there's less wasted power overall.
If you think the difference is negligible, you're probably not paying your own electric bill.
They said the wattage is inadequate and they are wrong.
I mentioned in another comment that you would need a harness if you wanted to swap to a retail power supply, but that had nothing to do with this comment.
Trying to fit an aftermarket 4080 in this is going to be difficult, unless you're very selective and choose one that matches the reference card dimensions.
A lot of 4080s are longer than reference length and won't fit.
