Decent price. Costco is selling the same system without the graphics card for $700 (they claim it's a $300 discount [costco.com]).
Literally on the page is the ability to upgrade the PSU for $50 - to a very good PSU. And add liquid cooling (that they use on the K series) for another $50.

Dells have issues, but the PSU and cooling problems you guys are mentioning are literal options you can change direct from Dell before you order - I don't even think you clicked the link.
Going forward in your life, you should understand and learn to know that you aren't as smart as you think you are and this is making you overconfident.

This is the same model that I'm using right now, bought from a similar Slickdeal here from January. I upgraded the PSU to the 600w, doubled the memory to 32GB, and the SSD to 1TB. It had an AmEx deal, so all-in was just over $1,000. Moved over all my old HDDs, a use same desk rig, monitors, and speakers. Works like a supercomputer. You can tell that GPU makes all the difference in audiovisual quality. Would buy again, 10/10.

460 watt PSU is a joke
TDP of RTX 4060 Ti: 160W (+11W if you play games at 4K)
TDP of i7-13700: 65W

A 460W PSU is good enough because the current configuration will use less than 375W at full load.

Dell is overpriced junk. Just cause I can afford to buy it to know, means I'm rich? I'd say it has more to do with being forced to read constantly an not being given silver for a long time that I understand tech an had to build my own or take junk that people threw away. Or all I would know is really high end stuff (besides dell 😝)
There's always guys like you who come on these threads and make it seem like all the big box companies are trash and YOU somehow can build something better so much cheaper and it will be some super computer that will last way longer than anything else you can buy.
Here's the reality though:

99.9% of people don't want to take weeks of their life getting all the parts, building the pc, testing it, troubleshooting it etc, I've done it so I know.
I get it, if your a kid and this is your hobby and you have time to toil away on this, have at it. Most of us don't or really don't want to do it.

With discounts, you cant build this cheaper.

If something goes wrong, you have warranty support for at least a year. When something goes wrong on your spiffy new build and you have a driver issue or an incompatibility, good luck figuring out which one of your super parts is causing the issue.

I've had 2 XPS computers and they are rock solid. Never had an issue.
Are they good for overclocking and upgrading with components beyond the power supply output ? No. But use them as they ship and it will last you for a decade if you choose.

I had an old Dell XPS PC that I bought in 2013, was still running okay but I wanted something newer. I bought this XPS deal last fall with similar specs (one step down on graphics card); it's been working great.
I didn't care as much about the graphics (not a gamer), but my son was jealous that my graphics was better than his self-built pc, lol.

I (self-taught tech geek mom) have built several computers in the past, including helping my son with the two he's built; I'm at that point in life where I just want something that's built and reliable. XPS line does that.

I bought this deal last night for my other son (who had the same 2013 XPS as my old one, and is still using it).
As an older techie, I do miss the CD-Rom drive. I had to buy a external one.

Anyone add a second fan to the front of the case?
Is it necessary?
I changed the stock front fan to a Noctua fan.

It has only 2 3.5" bay. If I want 8 3.5", what pre-built PC can do that?

Unlikely to find that in any new modern desktop, at least from any of the big names. Look at Dell tower servers.

I buy Dell

'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases
My blues away
And I'll be okay
Yeah, I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends
In low places

Will there be any problem if I remove one RAM stick and add this 32GB stick to make it 40GB RAM?

Got this deal. Added $50 for the larger power. Only thing is everything related to the internet is slow. Opening up new browsers, connecting to games. I'm constantly getting connection reset warnings. I've upgraded and checked everything to no avail. Close to returning the system.

Sounds more like a network connection issue. Did you try with an Ethernet cable instead to isolate the issue?

If it had a decent power supply, I'd probably get it. Woefully underpowered.
