You have to find a store with inventory to see the $219. I found a store with 2 in Lawrenceville, GA. A roughly 2 hour drive from me.

For $30 more you can get the better functioning skil saw. Has less deflection and better everything in almost every category. This Rigid doesn't have lifetime warranty. It's a rebranded delta miter saw. I was about to pull the trigger until I learned about the skil

You talking this one?

I have an older Craftsman that I can't duplicate a cut on to save my life since it's so sloppy. Been looking to upgrade for a while.

It's $249 for the skil and available at Lowe's or Amazon (plus with Amazon prime. 5% back or cashback via Lowe's 9%). That brings the Lowe's total price to $226. So actually just 7$ more! The skil saw sliding miter actually got pretty good reviews and many reviewers find it hard to beat at its msrp price

Yes that's the one! Even the clamp is better than the rigid and worth it for the additional $7 after cashback

The one downside of the SKIL is the sliding mechanism, its the same as my Ryobi. For making a miter saw station, that makes the minimum counter depth almost 32". The Rigid, and Bosch type sliding mechanism is much more compact.

Depends what you're doing, 10" sliding will handle most things. Anything longer you'd be looking at a table saw anyways. Table saws can produce a much longer straight cut. 10" saws take up less space. 12" take up more space but not by much. Majority of my use case for mitersaw is outside so space has never been a concern but weight matters more to me. The skilsaw @$249 at Lowe's weighs about 39lbs, the 10" rigid aka delta saw weighs 53 lbs or so iirc.

I'm tempted to wait for a deal on the skil, then that'd really be a slickdeal
