The breakdown is $151.57 for the kit and $78.42 for the 'free' battery.

It's a deal of you hack for $151. The combo minus the bit set has been $200 on daily deals if you need the 5.0 battery. Makita XPS bits are much better than Milwaukee's too.

This set is worth getting for $151 with the battery return. OH but it's nOt ReAlLy A tRuE dEaL because it requires an extra 5 minutes to guarantee that price. That's fine, a down-thumb from a slickdealer is not going to affect my experience in enjoying tool deals on this site in any way.

I've been using an older model kit of these two drills since 2015 or so and they are still going strong. For house DIY, woodworking, and even some larger projects, these are light, nimble, and so easy to use. M18 is overkill for a drill/impact unless you do professional grade work or literally have a power issue that these can't handle.

Hack didn't work for me. Called customer service who told me that if I cancelled the battery then the price of the impact driver would go back to normal. Even though it was two separate discounted items. He says the system and policy has changed. Has anyone else has success?

Does this hack only work with an in store return of the battery? I read it was possible to cancel part of the order through chat or phone instead of having to go to the store to return. But I was denied by a phone agent saying that the price would stay at $229+tax if I canceled the extra battery. So I just canceled the whole order.

place pick up for both items but separate stores , pick up which ever you want and then cancel other one or let it cancel it self out.
