I still regret canceling my order on the js32 when it was 159 last year. Ended up getting the js22 for 140, but will probably pick up the 32 if it hits that price again

How are the pickups on this? Also I have always been confused. When it refers to dinky, does that mean it's smaller than a typical guitar in length or body size? Like how much smaller is it than an Ibanez RG550?

They make small scale guitars that are probably best suited for that age. Check out the Squier short scale, Ibanez Mikro, or Jackson Minion.

Slightly smaller. 7/8 the body size. It looks like the same size as a Fender Strat side by side to me.

Oh man, this is the exact guitar I want! I really don't like the natural look though. Pretty much any paint color would have been an instant buy for me. Dang! Good deal either way.

One vote here for the Jackson Minion, my kid loves it and I sometimes steal it for fun also. Do NOT get the mini Monoprice, it's beyond garbage.

Must resist buying a matching Dinky...

They had purple burst and green burst a few months ago for the same price. I snagged a purple... you missed out!

The pickups are good enough. It's a common upgrade to swap them out but I think they're perfectly acceptable.

That's what I get for not checking SD enough...the green burst is exactly what I'm looking for! They have an open box posted on eBay that I have my eye on, but the 'open box' part has me concerned. It was probably returned for a reason.

Don't worry, this guitar seems to go on sale in various finishes all the time. Just be patient and you'll snag a deal that is just what you want.

I had this exact model for two years and I love it. No it's not a $1500 charvel that has a true Floyd however, after you set it up, take some time to do a basic set up on a Floyd Rose equip guitar it stays in tune after dive bombs repeatedly. This was perfect for my first Floyd rose guitar. However, I would highly recommend a beginner to not get a guitar with Floyd Rhodes, and rather a hard tail as it can be daunting if you don't know what you're doing but with YouTube nowadays, it's so simple the pick ups are screaming hot, and would be the only thing I would swap out for my occasional Floyd rose guitar even with the pick ups, nearly flat to the body. They still have a very hot sizzle.
