I got the 2280 version of this in 2tb. I copied 2 games from the OS drive to the sn770 drive and the speed was consistently around 50mbs during the copy, is this normal? Seems terrible to me. Each game was around 55gb in size.

Is there DRAM in the sn770? If not, that could be the cause.

Do you have any other machines you can test the drive in?
I have a 2 tb sn740 (oem version of the drive) installed to a steam deck (gen3 connector) and I am getting 160mbps when transferring to the drive over network.
160mbps or 160MB/s? Bc 160mbps -> ~ 20MB/s. I'm sure you meant the latter.

FWIW, transferring lots of small files is slower than fewer larger files.

For your laptop: https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/...n_5_15ARP8

You have 2x NVME PCiE 4 x4 slots

There's no dram, but it's supposed to perform well because it supports hmb. The other user said they copied a 100gb game folder in 2 minutes.

I could test it with an external enclosure, but I would be limited to usb 3.2 gen 2 speeds. I ran a long smart test and no problems found. Likewise, I am considering returning and trying another. I'll test with more files today.
The 740 is not the OEM version of the 770, theyare 2 completely different ssd's that use different chips and controllers.

The 740 has about 5% slower read/write times but is also uses only 2.5w of power compared to 3.5w with the 770, a big deal when using these in a windows handheld which get very poor battery life time.

I went with the 2tb SN740 for my ROG Ally. It works great and is very fast, It's also $60 cheaper than this sale price. You can get one from Aliexpress from Samsung Global Store (I bought mine from there and can verify it's a legit WD SSD. I know there's a lot of scams on AliExpress but that store is legit) for $123. I got mine on a sale for $115.

Just a note, I been using AliExpress for a long time and have had many items not be as expected, but the site ALWAYS lets you send it back for free and refunds your money if you're not happy. If the item is under $15 or $20 or something they usually just refund you and let you keep it. But it DOES take a while to get your refund if you need to send it back, roughly 30 days before the refund is actually issued.

Code doesn't seem to work for me on the 2 TB version.
