Too much hassle and it's not guaranteed to not get charged
24 months of bill credits is NOT free

If you want to get the phone within 3 days and cancel I think you need to do the in store option.
I just did it through the Tello SIM method and paid for quicker shipping. Hope it gets here by Wednesday. If not, it's gamble time.

Status update: Looks like I did get the e-mail from AT&T prompting me to create a pin and register my account. Used a different e-mail account from one I used with AT&T a long time ago just to be safe.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. If one doesn't want to use any trick to unlock early, he/she would have to pay activation fee $35 plus 2 months of service. The lowest plan for 1 line is $51 (pls correct if I'm wrong). So the total for s23 would be $249 + tax on full retail + $35 + $102 (and some tax and fee). Two months of service is enough? just curious.
The tax for the phone is on $249, not the full price but yeah, that's about the price you have to pay. ATT policy say for unlocking its 60 days of "wait" if the device is paid upfront so technically you don't need the service but nobody has confirmed that it works with a cancelled line.

looks like one of my local store has it for pickup. Should I still do it over the website or can get it Instore for the same price. The store is 30 mins away one way to want to get this before meddling with instore

In general store should honor the online price but I've heard some BB stores dont watch to match it.

Welps, that's a letdown. Got one e-mail saying it'd be delivered tomorrow then another one saying the destination address was changed by shipper. Guess I'll be hoping it arrives Wednesday and that I can get this all sorted out somehow.

Got it and unlocked and everything the last time this deal was posted at $50 more. Just chatted with BB CS and cited price guarantee policy. Got $50 refunded.

So you get to keep the phone for the total price of 250 plus tax? And I wouldn't even care about a activation fee. Still a good deal.

Essentially, yes. That's assuming the entire unlocking process goes through without a hitch. But be warned there's a hard credit pull done and that someone claiming to be a former AT&T employee in the other thread said this can potentially get you blacklisted by AT&T.

Probably not something I'm going to bother pulling off more than once every 3 years hehe.

I've never had AT&T before. I purchased the S23 for $249 earlier and am porting out of US Mobile. I've already provided the port pin from them. Best Buy called me this evening asking for my AT&T account pin. I let them know I don't have one. They said I need one. I asked if I need to do anything now or wait until the phone is here. They said it will be fine and I can create the pin when the phone arrives. What does this mean, and how do I get a pin?

Not sure how much it helps, but I got e-mails from AT&T prompting me to register my online AT&T account and create a 4-8 digit pin after creating a brand new Tello # using my old phone's esim and providing that # for AT&T to port out. You'll probably get the manual with the instructions to do this or be prompted by AT&T when you first register and create the online account with them.

I checked the port status of said Tello # and it's still showing it's not done.

Anything wrong with US Mobile?
