Surprised to see no interest in this one. MH Rise was the first game in the series for me and I'm having a blast about 6 hours into it so far.

I've read this is the best one to start with if you're looking at a more streamlined and casual game that has faster combat mechanics compared to its predecessors.

Great game, especially if you have friends that will play it with you. I personally prefer Monster Hunter: World (which is also on sale for about the same price), but Rise is more accessible for new players (although World is also pretty easy to pick up compared to older Monster Hunter games).

I tried to get into this game.. thinking it will be like wow raids. The monsters are cool, but you can't really see how much damage you are doing, or if your gear is improving, it is more about gitgud rather than farming gear.

You can easily mod it for the pc to have DPS. Very good game, sunk a few hundred hours into it.
