I have this and it makes a weird vacuum/suction noise when the compressor turns off. Was so annoying, I had to move it outside to the patio and get an Insignia beverage cooler that's been 100x better (albeit a bit more expensive).

My research says that noise is very common for this model, so I don't think I simply got a dud
40 1 star reviews out of 223. Id pass on this, you get what you pay for.

These are only really suitable for drinks right? Nearly every model regardless of brand say the same thing about the temps never getting remotely close to the designated temp and hover in the 45degree range? This would mean most food would mold and spoil so not really for snacks? If plan is for small snacks, better to just get a mini-fridge I guess?

Had this for a few months before offloading it on FB marketplace. Moving a shelf to accommodate 16oz cans removes like 1/3 of the capacity. The biggest issue I have with it, actually, is that the temperature never got nearly as cold as advertised. You could set it on 33 but it was no colder you could set it on 33 but mine never got lower than 40 degrees.

You mean putting larger cans reduces its capacity??

I'm currently using an insignia one as an actual mini fridge for snacks/food (moved and no full-size fridge) and I haven't had any issues at all with mold or food going bad. The Insignia at least gets quite cold and stays there. I might not trust stuff long-term, but for most normal stuff it's been great without any issues.

I don't have this model, but wherever they pull the "capacity" numbers from must be something like removing all shelves and stacking the cans in a weird way to get anywhere close to those numbers. Even with 12 oz. cans on the shelves in the default positions, I can never fit nearly as many as the claimed numbers. The problem is that raising those shelves to accommodate larger cans (like 16 oz) might mean creating an extra 3-4 inch gap which loses that much more space (besides the size of the cans) due to the shelf positions

Be sure you know how you need this to vent hot air. Only front venting minifridges can be "built in" just something i ran into. Best of luck!

I don't have this model but a similar one. It does vent on the left and right sides and needs clearance to cool properly. My issue with mine is the opposite. It doesn't cool consistently, like the thermostat is off. But mine doesn't have a digital setting it's a knob that goes from 1-7, with 7 being the coldest. I had it to 7, which was fine for a while then some aluminum cans started to balloon, meaning they were freezing. So lowered to 6. Was fine for a while but again, ballooning cans. Set it to 5. Now drinks were on the warmer side. As far as I can tell it seems to be affected by the outside temperature around the unit. E.g. if it's colder, the inside will cool more even if the setting is the same. Mine in indoors but the temps inside the house can swing ~5 degrees depending on the day/season. Drinks around the back of the unit tend to freeze faster than drinks towards the front.

I've had a good experience with my newair beverage fridge. Not the same model, but it had some similar reviews to those listed for this model. I bought it anyway since it was a fraction of the cost of other ones. I've now had it 5 years without a single problem.

So it may be worth trying it if you need one and have a limited budget. Should be easy to return if you have a local Walmart.

Not sure where you got 33 from since the website description says the lowest is 37. It does make sense that it hovers around 40 since it wouldn't be able to stay at the lowest efficiently. Think of a car, it has top max speeds way beyond the speed limit but it doesn't mean you should stay at that level since it isn't efficient. It can be applied the same for fridges.

I just got my fridge today and so far happy with it. I have no qualms about the said "awkward" shelf space and it works for what I need. Even though I just received it today, I am happy with my purchase considering it's $150 new and delivered to your door.
