I love the original Willy Wonka and when I heard there was going to be ANOTHER remake, my expectations were low to say the least, then I saw the trailer, I couldn't have been more disappointed. Thankfully I have HBO Max and decided to watch it on release because, why not, it's essentially free.

I loved it. I probably have watched it about 10 times now, from the story to the songs, it was really done well. I originally thought Jeremy Allen White should've played the part (due to looks, like a young Gene Wilder) but Timothee Chalamet really knocked it out of the park.

Definitely recommended at this price for sure. Is it a 10/10 movie? No but really just a wholesome and good-feeling movie.

Highly subjective, but I'll put in my 2 cents. I had shut this one off after 20 minutes. I dunno why, but I just couldn't deal with it. I own the original movie with Gene Wilder and I've probably watched it a couple dozen times, so I'm highly biased towards it and this one just rubbed me all the wrong ways.

My family was very pleasantly surprised by the movie. We shouldn't have been because it was done by the same people as the Paddington movies, which are terrific. We didn't like it quite as much as Paddington 2, but it was a very enjoyable movie.

Add me to the list of people that thought it was pretty terrible... just a slog of Chalamet acting weird in a weird way, not in a fun/eccentric way. It felt like a boring trainwreck.

I still think it was primarily aimed at kids so I don't blame you if you would not want to watch it again.

Timothée Chalamet did a fabulous job acting in Beautiful Boy. It's on Amazon Prime.
