I use this to blow out my garage and to vacuum my car and it works perfectly. Small footprint so it doesn't take up much room wherever you store it. Bought this last time it was $45.

I've had this shop vac for about 5 years now, never had an issue. Gets the job done. I use it primarily to vacuum my unfinished basement from time to time.

most 10gal+ shop vacs will work for woodworking. It's largely a matter of your dust output vs the capacity of the vacuum. You should be looking for a dust collector, it's a more specific use-case but will handle it better. It's going to start at around 150$ for smaller portable units.
