My M1 (with 16GB Ram and 1TB SSD) hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. So I'm going to give it another year and see what the M4 brings. But this is a great price if you're in the market for one now.

Step by step what I did, hope someone else can get the same!
1. Microcenter link to send to BB rep: https://www.microcenter
EVEN THOUGH THIS LINK SAID OUT OF STOCK THEY STILL ACCEPTED IT FOR A PRICE MATCH
2. I went through 3 reps. The first rep said it couldn't do the because of "one per household". The second said she couldn't do it unless I picked up in Indianapolis. The third said the same with regard to Indianapolis, but they seemed like they were ready to go along with it (even in the color I wanted) so I just said I had a friend coming in to get in to get it and gave them a fake name. I did this because on BestBuy's website it says you can switch the order from pickup to shipped up to 30 minutes after it's placed. Except that wasn't true: the only option was to cancel the order :/
3. The kicker: I knew getting the price match on the OOS item was the hard part, so I just started another chat and explained that my friend can't pick it up. They had me cancel the order and created the SAME PRICE MATCH for my local store, pickup tomorrow, no problem with this rep whatsoever.
Hopefully someone else can replicate this!

What I Did: Placed the pickup order at store after multiple denials and followed up on a new chat today morning to change the pick up to ship.

This is true! I did it(13" Midnight M3 16,512) with a nicest rep(MUST)and also changed pickup to shipping by online chat after placing an order
The second time I was not logged in when I started the chat. The agent ultimately asked for my name/phone number, and they pulled up my BB account with that info, at some point along the way.
Can confirm this worked for me. I think not being logged in routes differently

The M1 Pro 14" is heavier, and has worse battery life. The extra ports on the right hand side occasionally do come in handy. The screen is better.
The M3 Air is probably a more powerful computer overall, I'd have to double-check the benchmarks.
Edit - although the M3 Air is faster in single-core, the M1 Pro is ~30% better in GPU/multi-core benchmarks. However, you're going to have hardware ray-tracing and AV1 decode in the M3.

Overall, depends on what you plan on doing with it. Unless you have a specific editing task and/or want to use more than 2 displays, I'd pick the Air.
