An OK deal, not fantastic price but not a unreasonable rip-off either. The major selling point would be if you want a flavored powder that does not use sucralose. This one uses stevia.

I personally find no value in that (sucralose tastes better than stevia), but some people do.
$43.99 in store
Ascent is the only brand of protein powder I've consistently liked (texture/flavor-wise) over the years. Excellent stuff

Wait for a deal or buy small quantities until one does

Just good brands. Doesn't have to be on sale right now.

My girlfriend and I try to avoid sucralose and this was the most cost effective option that I could find, just know that not everyone's stomach can handle stevia. The chocolate has been one of the better proteins that I've had and it mixes easily, no complaints.

If you need to buy now, this current deal has a lower price per gram of protein, but is mostly concentrate instead of mostly isolate. I haven't personally tried either brand.

This deal just posted at about 2.3c/g protein - much less: https://slickdeals.net/f/17425164-six-star-elite-series-100-whey-protein-plus-cookies-and-cream-1-8lbs-12-25-w-s-s-other-flavors-13-83-amazon?p=170369286#post170369286

If you want a blend that is mostly isolate right now, this isn't a bad deal, especially if you get the in-store price (I used the website price in calculations) - in-store would probably be about 2.9c.

If you wait for other protein powder deals, better deals than this will pop up. Just wait for them and maybe set a notification.

I also have a bunch of products listed on the community wiki page of this post.

Yeah, no sucralose is the main selling point for this. If you need flavored without sucralose, this is a very solid option and you probably won't find a better deal anytime soon.

Personally though, I'd probably just wait for an unflavored deal, then flavor it myself. Better deals on unflavored will come along.

Been waiting for an unflavored deal for a long time. I just got me 5 pounds of Now isolate with a targeted Amazon coupon, to get me by until a deal comes. I think I'll just get me some unflavored concentrate next time, and mix in some lactase if ot gives me trouble.

Another seeling point of the Ascent imho is that the flavor and the sweetness are done just right (for people who do look for a ready made flavored product). I'm not super sensitive to Stevia aftertaste, but those who are say that it doesn't have an aftertaste either.

The MyProtein slick deals usually cover unflavored, and their regular prices are pretty good if you get the right coupon code (though I hate how they mess with pricing and codes). Unfortunately, their super-deals tend to expire super-fast, lasting only an hour or two, so you have to act fast if you see one. The past two (expired). I got the Isolate one:

Concentrate for 1.25c/gram: https://slickdeals.net/f/17419134-myprotein-18lb-whey-protein-free-shaker-78-35-w-free-shipping?p=170272248#post170272248

Isolate for 1.79c/gram protein: https://slickdeals.net/f/17383611-myprotein-app-11-lbs-impact-whey-isolate-various-flavors-from-78-50-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2Algo

Unflavored vegan protein can also be found cheap all the time, but I'm guessing with a name like Milk4Ever, that's a non-starter.

Used to be pure isolate, now it's a blend, but still more isolate than concentrate.

Can vouch for this brand - the chocolate flavor goes down easy and tastes good. We can't handle artificial sweeteners (massive headaches), but stevia has been fine so far.
