Chevron 65740-CASE Techron Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner [amazon.com] - 20 oz

I prefer to buy 20 oz instead of 12 oz bottles since I can fill the tank instead of a partial fill up.

20 oz. (treats up to 20 gal. of fuel)

This would only help if you have port fuel injection. This will not help on direct injection engines.

I would highly advise against the whole bottle with only 2 gallons of gasoline. That much concentration may have deleterious effects on your engine. The recommended amount usually is one of these bottles to a full tank (approximately 16 gallons) but read the bottle to be sure.

If you don't want to use this every so often, just make sure to use a top-tier gas. Search online for those brands that qualify. Costco gas is the cheapest around and is top-tier.
You have a Supra as your avatar so you should know better than to use the same old arguments. This is a Fuel System cleaner, you're forgetting about the injector, pistons, and valves in a fuel system. It's nonsense to believe it's only for port engines when Chervon clearly states it's for all engine types, and yes, even GDI engines REQUIRE fuel system cleaners in the maintenance guide.

Also, you don't know how to service older engines 100K+ fuel systems, you just have a guess that the concentration will do something bad. PEA is the main ingredient to burn off carbon deposits. That's the point of the fast method. If you want a full service to carbon deposit removal, go to a shop that does walnut blasting which will cost you more than $1000. Have fun.

This is still a rip off.

$9 each for a pittance of active ingredient is not a good deal.

These bottles should be $9 msrp and on sale for $6.

Demand better my fellow consumers!!!

This is the only fuel additive cleaner that I have found to actually work. I had problems with carbon build-up under the cylinder heads which increased compression to the point that the vehicle computer could not retard the timing any further and the engine was knocking on mid grade fuel. Friend of mine who manages a large GM service departed put me onto this and it worked. It's the same products the dealerships use but it's packaged as GM goodwrench fuel system cleaner.

If you have a direct injection engine then this would do nothing for your valves. The fuel as in it's name, goes directly into the combustion chamber and cannot wash the back of of the valves. Carbon build up on the valves of a direct injection engine comes from oil that makes it's easy back to the intake via the EGR valve. Fuel additives can't combat that.
It's actually the combination of PCV and EGR, the EGR introduces soot and the PCV introduces oil vapor. Those two condense on the intake valves which causes the build-up.

In terms of these products, never used a fuel additive on any vehicle over 20yrs, and 35+ vehicles. Most in the 200k mile range, petrol is a solvent!

Not a great deal IMO. I have used these but found Berryman B12 to work better. I would rather buy the 12 bottles on Amazon for Berryman B12 2616 for $80.

If you have a direct injection engine, a product like Techron can help prevent build-up on the valves.

Chevron, Texaco, and Caltex are the companies that use Techron. If you fuel up at those places you are good to go. The fuel I buy doesn't have any additive package. I add Techron every few tanks.
Miniscule effect, using a higher quality gas is more important for direct injection. Premium gas does not mean higher quality. You have to pick a gas brand that stands by their octane rating and detergents used.

Lol some car people will blame all your problems on "cheap or discount gasoline". Which is funny because every gas station I've ever been to has all sorts of advertising stating that they use this and that detergents and they are the best fuel on the market.🤷 ♂️
Ignore all the marketing BS and stick with Top Tier (should be noted on the pump)
