Walmart just reduced Iphone 12 BLACK 64GB to $2.75 per month for 36 months.

Verizon - https://www.walmart.com/ip/seot/768996075?listRegistryId=890b3ee4-f0db-4ef9-9035-c0894d6461f8&listRegistryType=WL [walmart.com]

Att - https://www.walmart.com/ip/seot/109096620?listRegistryId=890b3ee4-f0db-4ef9-9035-c0894d6461f8&listRegistryType=WL [walmart.com] NLA

Its not monthly credits so please donot ask this question in comments.

You will be billed $2.75 per month for 36 months so you can pay $99 after 14 days and get your line free again.

New and existing customer will be charged $35 activation fees.

Existing customer total - $99+ TAx + $35 upgrade feee

New customer can try paying off the phone at corporate store with in 14 days or via customer service and can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation fees. huge YMMV thought.

So worst case scenario for new line - $99 + $35 activation + 14 days bill (as you can cancel as soon as you pay it off after 14 days and cancel the line )

You are always so fast to post these, I assume you have a script or you check every morning (like me 😁). For what it's worth, the listings for IPhone 12 Pro & Max are also $2.75 and Mini for $1.37, but both are out of stock online. I assume since the price dropped though that means there may be stock in some stores if people are lucky enough.
No, I just have a list of saved items in the Walmart app that I refresh each morning. The 11 dropped to $100 on a Tuesday in April last year so I was expecting this to happen around now.

No I got this as upgrade. I have been doing the att trick since I learnt about it (unfortunately after the iPhone 13 mini deal, which I cannot get unlocked by verizon). The way the att trick has been working so far, everytime I do it I send my blessings to all who discovered it and posted it on SD

Do you have the link to the page where the instructions are for the ATT sim trick?

Purchased in-store on 04/17 activated same day . Paid off device on 04/18 and cancelled on same day 04/18. Received bill today (on 04/24 ) for $127.83 which is also included device payment of $2.75… wtf. I didn't contact them yet.
Update: just called the number on the bill, it is saying $10.83 is the balance (automated system)

Sure. No biggie, I keep it as my experimenting iphone (it's kinda cute). But ever since, I have used the att trick on iphones that have sim slot. Now, I am not sure if we will get charged $35 activ fee if we don't activate verizon sim. I'll wait, and if they do, I'll go ahead and activate verizon sim, as sometimes the line upgrade gets stuck in limbo if you don't activate.

Just wanted to confirm one thing as it seems you and I are in similar vzw postpaid situation where we won't be canceling within 3 days or whatever.

You had success with the att sim trick before paying off your device in-store?

Also, do you plan on just eating the $35 upgrade fee?

I don't have an account in Verizon. I went to a Verizon Corporate store and they said that I couldn't pay off the device as I don't have an account and I purchased the phone through a third-party company (Walmart).

Would you please provide advice on how to proceed?

I would like to unlock my phone using the AT&T trick.

What happens if I don't open an account?

I bought two phones (added new lines to my existing account with 5 lines). I was able to pay off the devices today in store by paying cash. But I have received only one device as of today. The other device is still in transit.

Should I wait to get both the device to call and cancel? I dont know which #/ phone I received and which one is still in transit. Is there a way to determine which # goes with which device? Thank you in advance.

Make sure it's a corporate store. They should be able to look you up with your new Verizon phone number (which was showing during the Walmart checkout process).

Thank you for the reply! Do you know if they will be able to look me up by my first and last name?

Do you know what are the consequences of not activating the account?

You and I are in similar boat regarding the "free" iPhone 13 mini issue where it's locked to VZW and they can't unlock it.

With that said, another SDer and I have been investigating the issue and tried the vzw prepaid trick a couple weeks back. If you want to be looped in on updates, send me a PM and I can add you to our Reddit thread.
I purchases iPhone 11 through Walmart and now it's locked to Verizon and I haven't been able to get them to unlock it. They say it is unlocked from their perspective, but non-Verizon SIMs don't actually work. Is that the same issue you are having?
Does that also mean I am screwed with the same situation with the current iPhone 12 deal ? :|

Regarding your iPhone 11 purchase from Walmart, did you get charged for it?

For the 13 mini situation, Walmart messed up and never forwarded our device payment contracts over to Verizon. And to this day; we have not been charged. The working theory is since there's no purchase record of the device, Verizon is unable to unlock it.

For this iPhone 12 deal, you can just do the att sim trick as long as you haven't activated it with any other sim.

Can confirm that the att sim trick worked for me. I'm on Verizon postpaid and I have NOT paid off the device. I do not plan on canceling the service within 3 days and will just eat the $35 upgrade fee.

The device payment contract is showing up in MyVerizon for 36 months at $99 total.

Will plan on paying off the device once my next bill is triggered. Hope this helps for all moving forward.

Maybe it is different then. I did get charged for it, but did not activate it until a few months later. It activated just fine and I went back to my old device. I checked after a few months and found it was still unlocked and says "2387 - US Verizon Locked Policy". VZ says it is unlocked according to them and I have tried multiple tricks but none have worked. Non VZ SIMs don't work, confirming that it is indeed locked to VZ.

For the iPhone 12, unfortunately I already activated on VZ before noticing the AT&T trick. This one also says the same "2387 - US Verizon Locked Policy" for lock status.

For your iPhone 11, has 60 days elapsed since you've activated the device? Since you were officially charged for it, there's no reason why it wouldn't unlock after 60 days of activation.

Yes. It was purchased in Apr 2023 and activated sometime in Aug 2023. The problem is that they say it is already unlocked in their system. Or rather, there is no lock from their perspective.
