What did you end up doing? I am in the same situation. Thank you.

I am in the same situation too (swollen battery).. so returned it to Walmart and called ATT to cancel the line.. another option is to get it replaced with Samsung as it still on warranty..

Thank you. Did you return the phone to Walmart store? Online it shows not eligible for return. Also does the EIP goes away after you return the phone as well? This is such a weird circumstance to be in.

Update: Made an appointment with Samsung service center, they suggest a return to Walmart because they don't want to mess with the phone.

I received the phone but it doesn't show up on ATT website. Googled it and people say walmart people didn't scan the phone properly and it has a point of purchase error. Any way I can unlock it?

Did anyone face a similar situation?

Initiate the return by calling at&t loyalty department, they will send you a UPS label. After the delivery of the device to AT&T, give them a call one more time and they will help you in removing the EIP on the line. Talk to walmart support and explain them you returned the device to at&t and you want the refund of the tax amount and they are going to refund it.

Thank you, I did this last week. Returned the phone to Walmart, then call At&T Loyalty. They cleared out the whole bill. That was a lot of time spent on a return Lol.

Man, many experiencing swollen battery. I bought this phone from a previous bestbuy deal and just left in box for some time before getting around to upgrading. Now I am also experiencing swollen battery but am out of warranty, I think. Any suggestions? I literally took it out of box this week and though I see the charge icon, I dont think its holding a charge. Back panel is definitely bulging.

Will Samsung help me? Would appreciate any suggestions in my situation!

I bought 2 of these s21fe phones from Walmart. Neither one holds a charge. Incredible hassle to deal with returning. As Walmart tells me to deal with ATT and ATT tells me Walmart is providing me with misinformation.
I tried contacting Att loyalty after I got the first non-working device, but they didn't do anything to help. I guess I'll contact them again now that I have 2 non-working devices.

Those who got devices with Swollen batteries. I just went through the hassle of contacting Walmart, ATT & Samsung.

Walmart initially said they could not accept returns as it's beyond 15 or 30-day return policy. They provided me number of ATT customer care.

I visited ATT store and they said it doesn't have insurance. So, you need to reach out to Samsung for the manufacturer's Warranty as its less than 1 year since you purchased the device.

Created Service request with Samsung and the service request said the warranty expired in Feb 2023 , so you need to pay for battery or reach out to Walmart.

Reached out to Walmart today and explained the situation. They refunded whatever amount I paid to Walmart (30% + taxes).

Reached out ATT customer care. Initially, they said the device was not ATT. Then they said its ATT device but as its out of warranty, you must have purchased a refurbished device. I explained to them that ATT never sells refurbished devices on installment plan as they have to survive for 3 more years.

Then he transferred me to the ATT back office. He asked me to email proof of purchase to an email [email protected] . He said Walmart's receipt doesn't show IMEI. So, we can't consider it as valid proof of purchase. He also said Walmart site doesn't have any device for 100$. Then I emailed him ATT email which said I paid all the installments lumpsum. He still was not convinced. He said we couldn't replace device and we can refund 30% + Taxes that I had paid to Walmart. I lost my cool and scolded them saying you are selling devices without warranty and then showing mis trust with your customers of 12 years.. blah blah blah.

Then he agreed to refund 70% amount that I had paid to ATT. I searched the deal on slickdeals and also emailed him the link to the deal. That's when I realized, I am not alone.

I spent 1 hour with ATT customer care and didn't budge till they refund.

This could a potential candidate for a class action suit as ATT has clearly sold devices without any warranty as new to multiple customers.
