Just wanted to verify my timeline for doing this is right.
- Buy Galaxy a14 on Monday.
- Two day shipping, arrives Wednesday. (Business Day #2)
- Pay off phone Wednesday and make a call/text. (Can I pay off phone earlier - before it arrives?)
- Cancel service Thursday (Business Day #3 - last day to avoid activation fee)
- Leave in drawer without service for 60 days, tweak apps, SD card, settings....
- Unlocked automatically
- Use on any USA network (probably US Mobile).

Just letting everyone know here. I thought this was replicable and went through with it.
The Verizon customer support as well as the chat has explicitly told me that the device is not eligible to be paid off until 5/16/2024. They'll definitely make you pay the activation fee ($40) and one month's prepaid bill of $60.
This is no longer worth it!

there is a direct phone line you can call to pay off device via automated system with your saved card. Dont ask the reps, they'll say cant be done.
The number was in last years iPhone 14 walmart verizon deal.

The automatic system tells you that you are ineligible to pay off this phone until mid May.

A bit too much trouble for not much savings. Not worth the hassle of fighting with Verizon to get all the activation fee back

Ok, so why is rates higher now and prices even higher when compared to 2020?

I received the Galaxy A14 this morning, but my phone is not activated. I called Walmart and Verizon, they can't locate my phone by IMEI #, and Verizon asked me to activate my phone at Walmart store. Any thoughts on this? If as the previous post said I have to wait till May 16 to pay off my phone, I probably need to return it ?

That is correct. I called in to pay off and called again the next day to cancel. I think you can pay off online but I haven't tried yet. Once unlocked, pretty sure you can use on any major carrier.
Which number did you call to pay off/cancel?

I forgot to take note of the new number assigned while ordering. How do I find out that now?
Quote from aniqueakhtar :
You don't. Just order a new one.
I got my new number info by calling Verizon after it shipped.

i am talking about house price, not rental price.
This pushes house prices up when rentals are scarce, more people buy. Likewise more corporations scoop up houses and convert them into rentals.

The normal customer service line. This was about 2 years ago. I am an existing Verizon customer with 5 lines. I don't want to do things like this too often and bring attention to my account.

Were you able to pay off the phone completely on Walmart's website or did you have to go into the Verizon store.
Previously, I called Verizon CS and they were able to help. I will try online first then CS.
