For those of you who are just a touch tech savvy, it is possible to side load the Xfinity Stream App to a Google Chromecast, and I have done it at it works very well. Probably took about 30 minutes of my time (worth it to me, getting rid of a $10/month rental saves $120 a year, so worth 30 minutes of my time).

If you dig through the thread you'll find the instructions on how to do it. Long story short, you download a browser through google play (I used Downloader by AFTVnews) which allows you to enter web addresses and download files. Using that, you download the modified version of Xfinity Stream App and install. Then you download the Xfinity Stream Icon which allows the app to show up in your Chromecast's apps. That's literally it. You log in as you normally would and it works.
These are good for trips to turn hotel "dumb" TVs into smart TVs.
