Yeah I work at a clinic that sells these and we get numerous repair appointments for the 11; They're mainly centered around heating errors. Resmed is going to send out a software update within a week (hopefully) but you're better off getting an S10, it's built much better and is probably cheaper too.
Literally just got the 10. This makes me feel better lol.
Take good care of the AS 10 and it will take good care of you.
My 5 year performance stats on the AS 10 with perfect compliance impressed the sleep doc.
(and I lost 35 lbs without changing diet or exercise.)
Note: The AS 10 water chamber never failed for Ms SOZ or me. Those reports of failure might be from folks that pack their ResMed gear in checked luggage.
Not that I'm suggesting anyone buy this AS 11, but I have the AS 10 and I used the heated water chamber for years until I decided to stop using it and then I found out I didn't even need it. Not using it cuts down a lot on the fiddling. Don't have to buy special water and don't have to clean it as much. Obviously, YMMV.
So, other than a revised (poorly) design for the water chamber, is there anything else new with the 11? I didn't even know they released a new one. I'm probably not due for a new machine quite yet. Is it usually 5 years or 20,000 hours or something like that?

The motor apparently is completely different. The cellular modem (if you happen to use that) is 4G (I think 5G too) capable vs 3G for the previous model which is essentially phased out. Similarly, the Bluetooth connection now offers Low Energy. My understanding is that the foam used inside has been "upgraded" possibly in response to the Philips debacle. The software is supposedly much better, especially the autoset which doesn't matter if you're using a set pressure. Data reporting is more detailed. The internals have overall been simplified.
IMO, if you can get the 10 for half the price of the 11, then go for it. But if the price difference is minimal, then why not get the newest version?

"ResMed Air10™ or Air11™ devices sold after March 2017 use 4G technology but may default to 3G based on geographical availability and therefore may also be impacted."
I checked the label on the underside of my AS 10 and the IC number does indicate its 4g which is consistent with what I found above seeing as I got mine end of 2018. I don't know if 3G service has ended in my area but I do know my machine has always connected to the cell network just fine anywhere I've taken it.
Good to know the rest of those differences. I appreciate you're sharing. I don't think my machine has Bluetooth at all.
As for which machine I'm going to get, I'm on my first CPAP machine so I've never personally went thru the replacement process. I would assume it's all up to what my insurance company chooses to do. So far, I've not looked into it.

Yeah, it comes down to which specific model you got and especially during COVID there were supply chain issues. Currently there are great deals to be had on the 10 version with only a "card to cloud" option which is marketing speak for NO cellular, wifi, or bluetooth!
The 10 is a solid machine so if it's working for you likely no need to upgrade. But if you're in the market and can get a good deal, then the 11 may be a reasonable upgrade, just not at 2x the price. I also like the Fisher Paykel Sleepstyle. That one came out in 2017 so roughly in-between when the Resmed 10 and 11 came out. But it's fairly well designed with reportedly excellent software algorithms and can be packed for travel in a pinch.

The poorly designed water chamber will make you pine for the prior one.

Thanks. Was wondering if it was worth upgrading the AS10.

Poorly designed would be a compliment for the water chamber it is worthless.

And was looking to buy the 11.Ugh seems both models have issues.
