Also, for software, the file for the steam OS was confusing bc they used an unfamiliar file "compression" that also looks like the non-compressed file, so there's that wasted time. I had to decompress the stock file then use preferred software to image it on the card. For those who aren't familiar the process can be much more than 15" to figure out the details.. realistically half a day to be planned for worst case scenario. Now if one doesn't care for the case sure just bulldoze through it, I'm not one to be brash. Of course now if u ask me, I can bust it out in 15" but don't make it seem like the process is intuitive bc it may not be so for those just coming in.
I also have Z1 extreme and that was night and day difference. The replacement for that I can honestly say is genuinely 15", even for newbies doing it first time. But not for SD.
You last paragraph reveals your motive. Trash the SD because you have an Ally. People are weird.

Respectfully, I don't think you got me correctly. Just because I disagree with some comments does not mean I don't love the SD. I just don't like statements that I feel are exaggerated.
Probably would pair up well with something like a minisforum hx100g.

That said this is still the best deal going for anybody looking to get into the wonder-handhelds. Much simpler to just plug and play, but you can still tinker if you want to by comparison in Linux. The best overall for me was the Ally, despite the battery and SD card issues. The Legion is a chonk for portable gameplay and the VRR of the Ally is quite a bit more helpful. I'd still recommend the Steam Deck for 90% of the people getting into these though. The Ally and Go really need to be tinkered with here and there to get the best experience.
