I have this exact saw, and used to own the SKIL 14 Amp saw before purchasing this one (my dad ran it with the car some years ago). Quality-wise, it's like night and day. It's small things that you don't think about as a homeowner. Compared to the regular SKIL, it has better balance and lower center of gravity, the trigger mechanism is much nicer, and the list keeps going. As a weekend warrior, I would highly recommend this saw.
Doesn't matter, blades are cheap and constantly replaced

Amazon has similar for $30 on sale most if not all times isn't it ??
Edit
That SKIL circular saw is cheaper design and model for $30
I'd say if someone is in the market for a right side blade circular saw, this is definitely a better buy for not much more than the 13 Amp lower quality one that I think you're referring to.

Bought the 15 amp 7-1/4 5280-01 with the laser a few weeks ago on sale at a bunch of places. Tried looking up comparisons to see the difference but could find much information. Does anyone know which model is better or serve different purposes?
Um 😐 how about when your mooch neighbors ask to borrow tools you just say NO. Because usually you won't get it back or if you do actually get it back it will be broken or abused because it's not theirs so they don't take care of it.

Even though the magnesium is nicer, we're looking at double the price.
